Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Includes Abnett, Lanning, Kirby Easter Eggs; Set On Earth

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 set images out of Cartersville, Georgia have hit the net revealing some cool Easter Eggs as well as the apparent revelation the movie will in part take place on Earth.

We see from the gallery below signs on buildings with “Abnett,” “Lanning,” and “Kirby.”

Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning were the writers behind the 2008 Marvel comic book that inspired the movie.

Of course, Kirby is legendary comic artist and creator Jack Kirby.

What’s also interesting is that judging by the vehicles used, the movie looks to visit Earth in the here-and-now as the vehicles look new.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has a May 5, 2017 release directed by James Gunn starring Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Zoe Salanda as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket Raccoon, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, with Kurt Russell playing an unknown role.
