David Ayer Confirms Catwoman & Poison Ivy For Gotham City Sirens

Earlier saw WB reveal a new Suicide Squad spinoff movie is in the works with Gotham City Sirens, which will star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn focusing on the female villains of the DCEU.

Gotham City Sirens will be directed by Suicide Squad‘s David Ayer, who took to Twitter to basically confirm two characters from the comics: Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

“#Sirens4Ever,” Ayer tweeted along with the following image.

While it’s unknown if David Ayer will be doing an adaptation of the Paul Dini-written comic, it’s probably safe to assume the comic book is at least some form of inspiration for the Gotham City Sirens film.

In the comics, Gotham City Sirens features Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Poison Ivy, along with appearances by Holly, Talia Al Ghul and Zatanna. Batman and Bruce Wayne are also featured in the comic, and since the movie it is titled “Gotham,” that may mean appearances by Ben Affleck’s Batman (Affleck also had a cameo in Ayer’s Suicide Squad). The comic also includes Riddler and Dick Grayson.

Catwoman/Selina Kyle was most recently portrayed by Anne Hathway in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Hathaway recently said she would consider returning to the DC universe if there was a way that it could happen.

Word also hit that Catwoman will not be a part of the Ben Affleck Batman movie when the news of Sienne Miller wanting the Catwoman role recently became known.

With Catwoman and Poison Ivy likely in the DCEU, who should play them? How about Eiza Gonzalez as Catwoman?
