Godzilla X Kong: Supernova is currently filming in the UK as part of Legendary’s Monsterverse, with set images and videos hinting at a large-scale disaster movie. A “severe Titan alert” was previously teased, and the scenes being shot appear to tie directly into that storyline.
Local reports confirm that production has been underway all week around Queen’s Wharf, wrapping up Friday.

Matthew Modine part of the military
Matthew Modine looks to be a part of an elite military unit, which some fans think could be G-Force, the fictional military unit created by the United Nations to monitor, defend against, and if necessary, destroy Godzilla and other kaiju (titans).

The start of filming reveals Godzilla X Kong: Supernova has the working title “Zeus,” which is how studios try hide the movies on set and in production notes. However, it’s known “Zeus” is actually Godzilla X Kong: Supernova.

Legendary announced the official title and release date a couple of weeks ago. Godzilla X Kong: Supernova gets released on March 26, 2027. Grant Sputore directs.

Plot
The official plot is being kept under wraps, but the studio previously teased: “several new human characters alongside the beloved and iconic Titans Godzilla and Kong as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.”
Who does Godzilla and Kong fight?
It’s unknown which Titan or Titans that Godzilla and Kong are fighting this round. Similar to the previous movies, the Titan(s) might be entirely new and not from the previous Toho movies.
That said, fans are speculating Godzilla X Kong: Supernova will feature SpaceGodzilla, a cosmic-mutated clone of Godzilla, enhanced by alien radiation.
Another possibility is Gigan, a cybernetic space kaiju equipped with buzzsaw claws, a laser eye, and a metal hook in place of hands.
