Fortnite has released the first teaser for Chapter 7 Season 2, and it looks like Epic Games is setting up a big clash for the next season.
The short preview confirms Chapter 7 Season 2 is titled Showdown and teases the return of The Ice King and The Foundation.
The footage also shows Captain America frozen in ice, which fits with the character’s origin, suggesting Marvel will again be part of the upcoming season. The new season launches March 19.
Ice King returns for Fortnite Showdown
The teaser features text saying, “The Foundation and The Ice King will return in Fortnite: Showdown,” which sets up the central conflict for the new season.
The footage then shows The Ice King inside an icy location, walking past frozen characters trapped in massive blocks.
That includes what looks to be The Foundation, along with Captain America. Another frozen figure shown in the teaser has also been identified by coverage of the trailer as Orelia, pointing to Epic pulling from both Fortnite lore and crossover content again for Season 2.
Captain America spotted in the teaser
Captain America is one of the biggest reveals from the preview. The character appears trapped in ice, and reports on the trailer say the teaser hints at either a new Captain America skin or at least a major Marvel presence tied to the season.
That would not be a surprise for Fortnite, which has made Marvel one of its biggest crossover brands over the years. But putting Captain America in the middle of an Ice King storyline gives the teaser a strong comic book feel and adds more hype going into the new season.
Chapter 7 Season 2 starts March 19
Epic’s teaser points to Chapter 7 Season 2 beginning on March 19, with new content, skins, and what looks like a thawing battlefield tied directly to the Ice King and The Foundation. Coverage of the trailer also notes the countdown attached to the teaser lines up with that launch date.
So far, Epic hasn’t revealed full gameplay details, but the early setup makes it clear Showdown will lean hard into Fortnite lore while also bringing in another Marvel hook with Captain America.
