Details for Pacific Rim 2 include that it will film in Australia and China, and that John Boyega plays the son of Idris Elba's character from the first movie. Charlie Hunnam will not be returning.
Pacific Rim 2 has a February 23, 2018 release directed by Steven S. DeKnight also starring Tian Jing, Scott Eastwood, Max Martini returning as Herc Hansen, and Ron Perlman returns as Hannibal Chau.
