What do the reviews say?

The Negative

Currently, there are only three reviews on the negative side:

The highs of creative kills and Tony Todd’s poignant final bow are offset by an underdeveloped story that struggles beyond its solid concept. While uneven, it does at least succeed in delivering some summer horror fun. – Bloody Disgusting

It’s strength is being a lot like the original, and its weakness is in not evolving at all from it. – Pajiba

Fans may come away from Bloodlines satisfied by the resurrection of the formula, but true to form, it will be because three scenes are actually interesting. – ComicBook.com

What do the positive reviews say?

Positive reviews for Final Destination: Bloodlines praise the film for reinvigorating the long-dormant horror franchise with inventive kills, sharp humor, and a satisfying blend of nostalgia and fresh ideas.

Critics highlight the film’s playful tone, creative death sequences, and expanded mythology that respects the series’ roots while updating its formula for modern audiences.

Many call it one of the best entries in the franchise, applauding the mix of practical and CGI effects, strong pacing, and a poignant sendoff for Tony Todd’s iconic character.

While a canonically satisfying sendoff to the late Tony Todd’s William Bludworth bolsters the series’ morbid gravitas, a cast of playful, mostly likable 20-somethings keep proceedings light in juxtaposition to the filmmakers’ fiendishly inventive kills. – Variety

One of the franchise’s best, Bloodlines expands the lore while delivering unique and entertaining deaths. It also serves as a perfect and emotional farewell to Tony Todd. – Mama’s Geeky

At its most effective and fun when dispensing sick punchlines that reinforce death’s inevitability. That said, it does provide a surprisingly poignant send-off for the late horror legend Tony Todd, a series regular since the first film. – Scotsman
