Ed Skrein has signed on to play Baldur in Prime Video’s upcoming God of War series from Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
The series is produced in association with PlayStation Productions and Tall Ship Productions.
Skrein, who recently starred in Jurassic World Rebirth, Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon, and Deadpool, takes on one of the most dangerous and volatile characters in the franchise.
Who Is Baldur In God of War?
Baldur may be the youngest son of Odin, but he is also his father’s most dangerous weapon.
Charismatic and unpredictable, Baldur lives by his own rules. As a boy, he was cursed and lost the ability to feel physical sensation or pleasure. That curse fuels his anger and bloodlust.
He favors a brutal, brawling fighting style that relies on raw strength and devastating punches. More than anything, Baldur wants a worthy opponent — someone who can finally make him feel something in battle.
God of War Series Gets Two-Season Order
The God of War series is based on PlayStation’s popular mythology-themed video game franchise. Prime Video has already handed the project a two-season order, with pre-production currently underway in Vancouver.
The story follows Kratos and his son Atreus as they set out to spread the ashes of Faye, wife and mother. Along the way, Kratos tries to teach his son how to be a better god, while Atreus pushes his father to be a better man.

Prime Video’s God of War continues to build out a high-profile cast and creative team as the adaptation moves closer to production.
