Deadpool 3 can’t get here fast enough and now thanks to the Sag-Aftra strike ending on Wednesday, filming can restart.
The flick was forced to pause production following the actors going on strike in July.
Now that the strike is over, Deadline reports Deadpool 3 will get back to filming ASAP.
It’s known director Shawn Levy has completed 50% of filming, and according to Deadline, filming could resume as early as this week or in the very near future.
Though the actors have been on strike, the site says various flicks, including Deadpool 3, have been in various forms of pre and post-production ready to restart once the strike ends. So it looks as if Shawn Levy, Ryan Reynolds, and Hugh Jackman are ready to go.
Update: Ryan Reynolds confirms a Summer 2024 release date and Hugh Jackman also has some fun on social media.

When does Deadpool 3 get released?
That said, just a couple of weeks ago saw it reported that the release date will be delayed.
Deadpool 3 was supposed to be released May 3, 2024, but now it looks likely the release date will be pushed further into 2024. Reports have offered Marvel might bump up the July 2024 release of Captain America: Brave New World to that May 3, 2024 release date as the film is a lot further along.
âI wish I knew. I donât even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3,â Shawn Levy recently filled in The Wrap. âCertainly, the actorsâ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. Weâve shot half the movie. Iâve edited half the movie. Weâre dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.â
Levy also tackled rumors and confirmed the film’s R rating.
âI love the proliferation of casting rumors on the internet, because I never have to say whatâs real and whatâs fantasy, so Iâm just going to go with the very cliche âno commentâ on all things casting [with] Deadpool 3,â Levy said on SiriusXMâs Jess Cagle Show on YouTube. âI will say, weâre lucky on this one. Thereâs certainly â is this an answer? A lot of the internet rumors are completely false, but some of them arenât.â
In addition to Deadpool 3 restarting filming soon, Deadline adds Gladiator 2, Beetlejuice 2, Juror No. 2, and Venom 3 will be among the productions to restart ASAP. Sony also just announced the new Venom 3 release date following the ending of the strikes.
Deadpool 3 also stars Emma Corrin as the villain; Leslie Uggams as Blind Al; Morena Baccarin returns as Vanessa; Rob Delaney as Peter; Stefan Kapicic as Colossus; Karan Soni as Dopinder; Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.
The plot is said to involve Wade Wilson travelling the Fox Marvel Multiverse with the TVA hot on his heels which leads to Reynolds’ Deadpool meeting up with Jackman’s Wolverine and others.
