It is reported the Deadpool 3 release date is going to get delayed which is because of the current strike that has yet to resolve and even if it does get resolved in the next few weeks there still won’t be enough time to finish the movie.
The news fits with director Shawn Levy recently admitting the Deadpool 3 release date is at risk.
“I wish I knew. I don’t even know if we officially have [a release date]. I know we were gonna be May 3,” Levy filled in The Wrap. “Certainly, the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date in true risk. We’ve shot half the movie. I’ve edited half the movie. We’re dying to get back to work and get this movie out next year.”
Deadline first reports on the shift in release date and says Deadpool 3, though half finished, still has to much to do in regards to getting the crew back, finishing the movie, the VFX, etc., so Deadpool 3 won’t be able to make its May 3, 2024 release date.
No new release date has been announced as of yet.

Captain America saving the day?
While Deadpool 3 won’t be able to open in May, the site throws it out that Marvel might move up the July 26 release date of Captain America: Brave New World as it is said Captain America: Brave New World is in better shape as it has completed production.
If Captain America: Brave New World does manage to take the May 3 release date, Deadpool 3 could be pushed back to that July 26 date.
What is also kind of interesting about the potential delay is that it has been said Deadpool 3 directly connects to Avengers: Secret Wars, which comes out three years later. If so, it kind of makes sense to release Deadpool 3 closer to the Avengers: Secret Wars release date. There is also a rumor Marvel might be canceling Avengers: Kang Dynasty, so Deadpool 3 might actually be the “Infinity War” to Secret Wars.

The untitled Deadpool 3 stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin as the villain; Leslie Uggams as Blind Al; Morena Baccarin returns as Vanessa; Rob Delaney as Peter; Stefan Kapicic as Colossus; Karan Soni as Dopinder; Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio.
Regarding the strikes, hopefully, they will be over soon as some of Hollywood’s biggest stars including George Clooney, Emma Stone, Ben Affleck, Tyler Perry, and Scarlett Johansson recently got together and proposed that the top-earning actors in Hollywood help defray costs by eliminating the cost of dues which would equal $150 million over three years. Update: The talks didn’t go well, as SAG didn’t see the “validity” of the group’s proposal, according to Variety, so the strike continues.
