Dave Bautista Wants To Quit Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Following Dave Bautista tweeting that he would do what he is legally obligated to do regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 3, now the actor says he will ask Disney to be released from his Marvel Studios contract.

“Nobody’s defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man. I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he’s a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: f-ck this. This is bullsh-t. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I’ve met.”

Dave Bautista continued with confirmation that James Gunn has turned in a script for Guardians of the Galaxy 3 noting that if Marvel doesn’t use it, he wants out:

“Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me. I’d be doing James a disservice if I didn’t.”

The statements are similar to his earlier tweet:

I actually questioned if Dave Bautista would quitting Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 following Dave Bautista first reacting to the news of Disney firing James Gunn over tweets that resurfaced from ten years ago making light of rape and pedophilia.

“I will have more to say but for right now all I will say is this.. @JamesGunn is one of the most loving, caring, good natured people I have ever met,” Dave Bautista reacted on Twitter when he first heard the news. “He’s gentle and kind and cares deeply for people and animals. He’s made mistakes. We all have. Im NOT ok with what’s happening to him.”

Dave Bautista then slammed “cyber nazis” as the real reason James Gunn was dismissed.

“What will you do when the #cybernazis attack you? Who will stand by you? Who will cowardly distance themselves from you? Who will punish you for horrible JOKES in the past instead of defending you for INSPIRING millions? MILLIONS!!!” Dave Bautista posted. “What happened here is so much bigger then G3, @JamesGunn ,myself,@Disney etc. This was a #cybernazi attack that succeeded. Unless we start to unite together against this crap, whether people are offended are not! …it’s going to get much worse. And it can happen to anyone.”

Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 3, a recent report mentioned that Disney is in no hurry to replace James Gunn as they haven’t even given the film a release date, yet. It’s also said Disney would simply delay the start of filming until they find the right director.
