Following James Gunn getting fired by Disney for tweets that resurfaced from ten years ago about rape and pedophilia, Dave Bautista took to twitter to blast and blame the “cybernazis.”
I actually questioned if Dave Bautista was actually going to quit Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but then a report about how Disney will never rehire Gunn surfaced offering that the actors were contractually obligated to do the movie, and if they didn’t, they would face legal repercussions.
Now Dave Bautista is back on Twitter offering that he will be doing Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but that he isn’t happy about it, that it’s not what he signed up for, and it’s not the same without James Gunn.
“I will do what Im legally obligated to do but @Guardians without @JamesGunn is not what I signed up for,” the Drax actor responded to questioning from a fan who asked if he had plans if Gunn doesn’t come back. “GOTG w/o @JamesGunn just isn’t GOTG. Its also pretty nauseating to work for someone who’d empower a smear campaign by fascists #cybernazis . That’s just how I feel.”

Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 3, a report stated that Disney is in no hurry to replace James Gunn as they never gave the movie an official release date, and while it is supposed to start filming at the beginning of next year, it’s said Disney could simply delay the start of filming.
The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy recently released a joint statement about wanting Disney to rehire James Gunn.
“We fully support James Gunn,” the statement begins. “We were all shocked by his abrupt firing last week and have intentionally waited these ten days to respond in order to think, pray, listen, and discuss. In that time, we’ve been encouraged by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media who wish to see James reinstated as director of Volume 3 as well as discouraged by those so easily duped into believing the many outlandish conspiracies surrounding him.”
The statement continues: “Being in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies has been a great honor in each of our lives. We cannot let this moment pass without expressing our love, support, and gratitude for James. We are not here to defend his jokes of many years ago but rather to share our experience having spent many years together on set making Guardians of the Galaxy 1 and 2. The character he has shown in the way of his firing is consistent with the man he was every day on set, and his apology, now and from years ago when first addressing these remarks, we believe is from the heart, a heart we all know, trust, and love. In casting each of us to help him tell the story of misfits who find redemption, he changed our lives forever. We believe the theme of redemption has never been more relevant than now.”
