Warning: Spoilers follow for Star Wars: Rogue One.

We got a taste of Darth Vader in the Star Wars: Rogue One trailers, but the full power of the Sith Lord was unleashed during the actual movie. Aside from the corny line, I felt they gave Darth Vader a good showing and just enough screen time — not too much or too little — and the end scene with Vader was pretty sweet.

Via the Star Wars: Rogue One Art of the Movie book (available through Amazon at a big discount) we get a new look at Darth Vader through concept art that shows “Vader’s Lair” on Mustafar. The idea for Vader’s lair and castle actually came from Empire Strikes Back, but they didn’t use it for that movie, and used some of it instead for Revenge of the Sith and more with Rogue One. Images in the book include Mustafar, Vader, Vader’s castle and Vader’s Bacta Tank. Check out some pics below.

Regarding the Star Wars: Rogue One Art of the Movie Book, it’s a great addition to any Star Wars fan’s collection as it’s chuck full of art and info. I do with they would have given it a cool slipcase like the Marvel books get, otherwise at 250 pages and for 25 bucks, it’s still a great read.

Update: Additional Star Wars: Rogue One concept art can be seen here and here.

“Star Wars: Rogue One” is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers.

Synopsis:

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
