James Gunn continues to pay homage to Richard Donner and Christopher Reeve in his Superman movie, and when it comes to the latter, the acknowledgment includes a cameo by Reeve’s son.
Via set images and video again out of Cleveland, Ohio, it’s confirmed that Will Reeve, son of the late Superman star Christopher Reeve, has a cameo role.
The Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story documentary also gets released in September.
News of Christopher Reeve’s son comes via Cleveland.com where it’s learned Will Reeve will play a reporter in the movie. In real life, Will Reeve is a journalist and correspondent for ABC News and a former commentator for ESPN.
Fans have also questioned James Gunn about all the perceived leaks and spoilers coming out of the Cleveland set. However, it should be set Gunn is filming outside in the view of the public, so they’re not exactly leaks.
When questioned by a fan about the leaks, Gunn responded on social media, “Fully expected… I’d never shoot a big spoiler outside in the middle of the city.”

James Gunn’s Superman flies into theaters on July 11, 2025.
The flick stars David Corenswet as Superman and Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.
Also set to appear includes Ed Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho.
Also starring in the movie includes Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemore as Otis, with Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher MacDonald as Ron Troupe.
Frank Grillo also stars as Rick Flag Sr. who will be starring in Creature Commandos and Peacemaker Season 2.
Milly Alcock is also thought to be debuting as Supergirl prior to her own movie which gets released in 2026.
