James Gunn fires back at the Snyder Cultists who are trying to sabotage his new Superman movie that spearheads the DCU with David Corenswet as the Man of Steel.
The Snyder Cultists—who couldn’t be bothered to show up for Black Adam to support Henry Cavill, and who still defend Pa Kent telling Superman to let a bus full of kids die and Superman just watching as his dad dies—are now doing everything they can to sabotage Gunn’s DCU.

Gunn Shrugs Off Snyder Trolls, Says Superman Will Survive
Various online trolls are creating Henry Cavill and David Corenswet Superman memes, and they’ve also taken to Reddit. Rather funny is that the Snyder Cultists apparently don’t realize Gunn and Zack Snyder are buddies. Gunn called up Snyder for advice about Superman wearing trunks. I’ve also been told Zack’s VFX guys are working on Gunn’s Superman. Gunn also apparently has scenes with online mutant monkey trolls and digs at the Snyder Cut.
Gunn’s not phased.
Responding on Threads and in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Gunn says his new Superman and the DCU will survive.
“LOL. I think we’ll survive,” Gunn responded to a concerned fan on Threads. “I’m not sure the eight people that listen to that guy (I’m going to go out on a limb and guess it’s a guy) are going to impact the course of events.”

Gunn Says Backlash Helps, Reveals Superman Actor Watches Everything Online
Regarding the interview with Rolling Stone, the outlet noted that some people are actively rooting against him because they are fans of the DCEU and Zack Snyder.
“I don’t mind it. I think it’s good,” responded Gunn. I think you don’t wanna have everybody root for you, And I have an actor who reads everything online. I won’t say who it is, but he’ll read this article, and he’ll know who it is. It’s one of the top five in Superman. And this actor gets so upset over things that people say. I said, ‘First of all, you realize that the trailer came out and [reaction] was 97, 98% positive. These people help us, because you don’t want everything to seem 100% positive.’”
“It’s all right to have an opposing force every once in a while,” Gunn continued. “Some of the things get ridiculous — I just know that every time something comes out, it doesn’t matter how positively received, there’s gonna be something that is of great controversy. It was great controversy that the sun caused Superman pain.”
Gunn’s Superman flies into theaters July 11.
