Christian Bale Rumored Back As Batman

Christian Bale Rumored Back As Batman

Christian Bale might be back as Batman according to new rumors and speculation that surround the DCU reboot from James Gunn and Peter Safran.

The rumor has to do with The Flash movie where it has been reported that various scenes have been removed due to Gunn’s planned reboot.

Watch The Flash Super Bowl trailer and official synopsis has been released.

It’s claimed that the end of The Flash movie has seen big changes with the removal of the Michael Keaton Batman and the Sasha Calle Supergirl, not to mention Henry Cavill as Superman.

To be clear that doesn’t mean the Keaton Batman has been totally removed from the movie, as Gunn confirmed Keaton is a star of the film and that he wouldn’t be able to cut Keaton, just that possibly the plan to feature Keaton at the end to continue with the cape and cowl has been nixed.

According to what has reported, originally the Michael Keaton Batman was going to serve as the mentor to the Sasha Calle Supergirl (and the Leslie Grace Batgirl who has been canceled) who was supposed to be the new “Superman” of DC.

However, now that Gunn is going with his new Superman, and it’s thought Sasha Calle won’t be his choice to play Supergirl, it seems that the scenes at the end of The Flash have been changed to lead to and reflect the new DCU, which means Keaton and Calle are out.

Update: Gunn shoots down the rumor in part.

Christian Bale as Batman

What does the Christian Bale Batman rumor say?

So who’s in?

According to the latest rumor, a former Batman is going to cameo at the end of The Flash who could potentially stick around as the new permanent DCU Batman.

Grace Randolph (who spilled the beans on Gunn’s Amanda Waller series) came up with the rumor and added it would be Damian’s dad in the Brave and the Bold movie (Robert Pattinson is still solo and a part of the Elseworlds stuff).

Randolph also says she knows who it is, but says it would be uncool to reveal the whole thing.

Randolph included an image of who the Batman could be from three previous versions: the Val Kilmer Batman, the George Clooney Batman, and the Christian Bale Batman from the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight movies.

Val Kilmer is definitely out as Kilmer had throat cancer and underwent a tracheotomy (as seen in Top Gun 2), George Clooney has made fun of his role on many occasions and said he doesn’t want to play the character again (no one wants the Bat-nipples back), which only leaves Christian Bale.

Rumors have also offered Ben Affleck might be directing the Brave and the Bold, so Affleck might actually be directing Christian Bale as the Dark Knight returns with his son, Damian, a little son of a b-tch, assassin, murderer who Batman takes on, who is Batman’s actual son that he doesn’t know exists for the first 8-10 years of his life.

Regarding if it’s actually Affleck sticking around, well Affleck is already in The Flash so that wouldn’t be much of a surprise.

And Christian Bale might not actually be a bad choice to return, as since he already has been the Caped Crusader, Bale wouldn’t be looked at as competing with Robert Pattinson. There wouldn’t be any casting rumors or competition – this one or that one is better – with Bale back in the role, and the Robert Pattinson version can be just fine remaining separate with Matt Reeves.

The Flash arrives June 16, 2023 directed by Andy Muschietti.
