Carrie Fisher Retracts Star Wars Episode VII Confirmation

Recently, Carrie Fisher gave the big affirmative to returning as Princess Leia in Star Wars Episode VII.

When questioned about it, the actress simply responded with a “Yes.”

However, turns out Fisher either jumped the gun about the Star Wars news or shouldn’t have mentioned it.

A rep for Carrie Fisher said it’s not the case and that she was only joking.

“She was joking,” a rep for Carrie Fisher told CNN about her recent comment. “Nothing has been announced.”

In the rep’s defense, Carrie did go on to joke about wearing the hair buns and sportin‘ the bikini, but she did basically flat out confirm the news.

Still, Mark Hamill did mention that all three of the originals are in talks to return, so there is that.

Update: Now George Lucas confirms all three.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date directed by J.J. Abrams.
