Brie Larson just sparked more Avengers: Doomsday speculation about the return of Captain Marvel, with her latest Instagram drop.
The actress, who played Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in the MCU, now sports short blond hair again, matching her similar look from Avengers: Endgame. Fans immediately picked up on the resemblance, especially following recent rumors that Larson is returning for Doomsday, which is filming soon in the UK.
Larson’s new hairstyle also comes on the heels of a visit to Universal’s Epic Universe, where she posed next to Captain Marvel-inspired art featuring the words “Danvers” and “Avenge.”
Captain Marvel’s Ship Being Built?
A recent report claimed Larson’s spaceship—believed to be The Hoopty from The Marvels—is being constructed on the Avengers: Doomsday set at Great Windsor Park. The rumored 60-member cast also reveals the cast reunion of The Marvels trio: Brie Larson, Iman Vellani (Ms. Marvel), and Lashana Lynch (Photon), along with Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Lashana Lynch is also rumored to return as Maria Rambeau, who appeared in Captain Marvel and The Marvels post-credit scene.
The Hoopty was featured in The Marvels, but only briefly. The Kree-engineered vessel acts as Carol’s transport and base of operations. A LEGO set revealed its design more fully, including an orange canopy and curved body.
If Marvel is rebuilding the ship, it’s a clear sign that Larson—and Captain Marvel—are returning to the MCU.

All Signs Point Captain Marvel Return
Larson also recently wrapped the UK stage play Elektra and will be in the country for Comic Con Liverpool this November, right when filming for Doomsday ramps up. Combine that with the hair change and theme park promo pics, and it’s hard not to think Marvel has something planned for Captain Marvel.
