Captain Marvel might be back. A new leak from the Avengers: Doomsday set claims Brie Larson’s spaceship is currently being built, with filming scheduled to begin next month at Great Windsor Park in the UK. The detail adds more fuel to speculation that Larson is reprising her role in the upcoming MCU event film.
The report lines up with previous rumors about Brie Larson being part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, which is said to feature over 60 Marvel characters. It also follows her recent wrap on the UK stage play Elektra, and news of her sticking around the country to appear at Comic Con Liverpool this November, right when filming is expected to ramp up.
The rumored cast list also names Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel and Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, who appeared with Brie Larson in the Captain Marvel sequel, so a reunion from The Marvels could be in order. Samuel Jackson is also rumored back as Nick Fury.
The Hoopty appearing in Avengers: Doomsday?
I believe Captain Marvel’s spaceship, known as The Hoopty, was first introduced in The Marvels. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s different than the Skrull ship she used to escape in the first movie?
The Hoopty also appeared in trailers for The Marvels, but its appearance in the final cut of the movie was minimal. The Hoopty appears to be another Kree-engineered vessel modified by Carol Danvers herself. While she can fly in space and such, as seen in The Marvels, she uses it to fly other people around who aren’t able to. It’s safe to say that Carol also uses it as her personal living space and such.
We actually got a look at The Hoopty’s design through a LEGO set (pictured above). The set includes minifigures of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Photon, along with the ship itself, which features a curved exterior and an orange cockpit canopy.
Given the recent reports of Captain Marvel’s spaceship being constructed on the set of Avengers: Doomsday (via Daniel RPK), it seems likely that it’s The Hoopty, which of course would signal the return of Brie Larson and Captain Marvel’s involvement in the upcoming film, in addition to possibly other characters.

Marvel Studios announced the release dates have been pushed back, with Avengers: Doomsday moving from May 1 to December 18, 2026.
Avengers: Secret Wars is moving from May 7 to December 17, 2027.
