‘Black Panther’ 2 Casts Michaela Coel

Marvel Studios and director Ryan Coogler have cast Michaela Coel in Black Panther 2 in an unknown role.

Michaela Coel is known for I May Destroy You, Black Earth Rising, Black Mirror, Chewing Gum, and had a small role in Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.

“WAKANDA FOREVER,” the British actress posted on Instagram confirming the news.

Variety adds insiders offer Coel has joined director Ryan Coogler at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios, where production began last month.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has a July 8, 2022 release date with Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett expected back in their roles from the first movie.

Regarding Chadwick Boseman, there are all kinds of rumors which include T’Challa getting killed off at the start of the movie, but Kevin Feige did say they are going to do the sequel in a way that will make Boseman proud.

“It’s clearly very emotional without Chad,” Feige told Variety last June. “But everyone is also very excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans. We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

Boseman died of cancer at the age of 43 last August.
