Today happens to be a good day for fans of Batman as not only is it learned a live-action Nightwing movie is in development, but Warner Bros. has come to terms with Matt Reeves, which will see Matt Reeves direct and produce the Batman movie.
WB released the following official press release announcing the news.
It was previously reported that talks had broken down between Matt Reeves and WB over the Batman movie, but apparently heads have cooled down. Matt Reeves joins the Batman movie following Ben Affleck having departed from directing.
Matt Reeves also has War for the Planet of the Apes coming out July 14th.

MATT REEVES TO DIRECT AND PRODUCE “THE BATMAN”

Pictures announced today that Matt Reeves (“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” “Cloverfield”) has been set to direct “The Batman.” Reeves will also serve as a producer on the new standalone action adventure centering on one of DC’s most enduringly popular Super Heroes.
