Fans get a surprise this weekend when they go to see James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water as the Barbie trailer starring Margot Robbie is being played in front of the flick.

The Barbie trailer hasn’t been released online but the footage has already leaked on social media.
The film gets released July 21, 2023 directed by Greta Gerwig and also stars Ryan Gosling as Ken, with Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Rhea Perlman, Nicola Coughlan, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ritu Arya, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Emerald Fennell, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Alexandra Shipp, and Marisa Abela.
Plot details have yet to be revealed but it’s said Will Ferrell is playing the CEO of a toy company that may or not be Mattel and that since Greta Gerwig (Nights and Weekends, Lady Bird, Little Women) is directing, not to expect your typical take on the doll.
The Barbie trailer footage that has leaked shows off Margot Robbie wearing a familiar outfit as the iconic doll, and video shows some sort of dance routine involving the cast.
Marvel’s Shang-Chi star Simu Liu can be seen dancing and Ryan Gosling’s Ken is also shown.
