Channing Tatum Hypes Avengers: Doomsday, Calls It ‘Times 50’ Bigger Than Deadpool

Channing Tatum, who returns as Gambit in Avengers: Doomsday, is the latest cast member to tease the massive scope of Marvel’s upcoming crossover.

Speaking with ET Online, Tatum said the film raises the bar beyond anything Marvel has done before.

“[Marvel] set a bar for themselves every movie and they beat it every single movie,” Tatum said. “And I can tell you this: as I was reading I was like, ‘How are they going to do this?! I don’t know how they’re going to do this.’ You’re just not ready.”

“Brains Ooze Out of Your Ears”

Tatum compared the scale of Doomsday to the jaw-dropping Blade cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, promising fans something even bigger.

“It’s gonna make your brains ooze out of your ears, like in the way I knew when Blade walks on screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, people are going to physically lose their actual minds,” he explained. “It’s that but maybe times 50. It’s just gonna be one of them things. And just the story… I can’t divulge anything but as a comic fan, you just aren’t ready.”

Who’s the On-Set Troublemaker?

The interview took a lighter turn when Tatum was asked who the biggest troublemaker on set was. He started to say a name beginning with the letter “D” before quickly stopping himself. “I can’t say,” he laughed.
