Aubrey Plaza who has joined the MCU in the Agatha: Coven of Chaos Disney+ series which spins off from WandaVision teases “The Darkhold Diaries” on her social media.
Plaza posted a short video on her Instagram Story zooming in on the following which seems to suggest “The Darkhold Diaries” is actually the title of the series or perhaps a title of an episode or even a new MCU project.
What is Agatha: Coven of Chaos about?
It’s currently unknown which character she is playing but fans have guessed Aubrey Plaza could be playing Morgan le Fay who has connections to Mephisto who Sacha Baron Cohen is supposed to be playing.
The Darkhold is the evil book that the Scarlet Witch used to find her children in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness so the book could also be involved with the Agatha: Coven of Chaos which stars Kathryn Hahn as the titular character, Agatha Harkness, Wanda’s noisy neighbor in WandaVision. Perhaps similar to WandaVision, each episode of Agatha: Coven of Chaos will be standalone and have its own theme.
While Elizabeth Hurley played Morgan le Fay in Runaways and the Darkhold is featured in both Runaways and Agents of SHIELD, it’s guessed those shows aren’t a part of the MCU.
Also starring in Agatha: Coven of Chaos includes Debra Jo Rupp as Sharon Davis, a Westview, New Jersey resident who played “Mrs. Hart” in WandaVision, and Patti LuPone plays Lilia Calderu, a 450-year-old Sicilian witch and a member of Harkness’s coven, whose skill is in divination, so we know the series will in part be an origin story for Agatha.
Kevin Feige recently announced Disney+ premiere dates for Loki Season 2 and Echo, so as things are slowing down for the MCU and projects are getting delayed and pushed back, Agatha: Coven of Chaos might now premiere in 2024. Marvel.com still lists the series as getting released in Winter 2023.
