Those rumors just might be right as Harrison Ford subtly seems to have teased he might suit up as the Red Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Ford has been cast as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, replacing the late William Hurt, in Captain America: New World Order and the Thunderbolts movie, and possibly in the Disney Plus Secret Invasion series.
Rumors have offered that Ross in the flicks will become not only the Red Hulk but even the President of the United States.
What does Harrison Ford say about the Red Hulk?
So while interviewing the actor about 1923, The Playlist asks how he decided to take on the Marvel role.
“Hey, look, I’ve done a lot of things. I now want to do some of the things I haven’t done,” Ford said.
The site mentions that one of those things he hasn’t done is motion capture and questions Ford if he is going to be putting on a grey motion capture suit.
The article says that Ford “simply smiled and replied with a ‘zipped-lips’ sign,” which as noted sounds like a confirmation.
What do the Harrison Ford Red Hulk rumors say?
There is a theory out there that Kevin Feige is actually adapting stories from the Marvel Comics involving Norman Osborn but using General Ross for the MCU, instead.
In the comics, long story short, following Secret Invasion, Norman Osborn becomes in charge of the Thunderbolts, an agency called H.A.M.M.E.R., and forms his own team of Avengers where he dons the Iron Patriot armor.
So in the MCU, Feige might be going with Ross and the Red Hulk in a similar role, as the movie rights to Norman Osborn are owned by Sony as part of the Spider-Man rights.
What are the Captain America: New World Order rumors?
Captain America: New World Order gets released on May 3, 2024, and is described by director Julius Onah as a paranoid thriller.
A rumor describes Ross as: “The former Lieutenant General of the United States Army and Secretary of State, now President of the United States. Using radiation siphoned transformed Ross into the Red Hulk.”
Another rumor says Anthony Mackie’s Cap Falcon assembles his own team of Avengers to take on Red Hulk.
Evil Superman rumored for Thunderbolts
Thunderbolts gets released on July 26, 2024, starring Florence Pugh as Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Olga Kurilenko as Taskmaster, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina, Hannah John Karmen as Ghost, and David Harbour as Red Guardian.
According to David Harbour, there is going to be a big “bomb” dropped on the MCU, so maybe it’s Red Hulk?
“It’ll be funny. It’ll be weird. It’ll be action. And then we’re also going to drop a bomb, which is cool,” Harbour told io9.
A rumor also offers the villain of the film will be The Sentry (or The Void), created by Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, with a previous rumor also offering an “Evil Superman” will be the villain.
