The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Exclusive New Rumors About Batcave, Batwing, Plot and more

pic Is this legit?

No idea.

Have we been sent “rumors” before that turned out to be at least somewhat true?

Sure have (see here, here and here).

All Warner Bros. movies, mind you.

Anyway, here is the latest info Cosmic Book News received on Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises.

Again, I can’t verify anything, so keep that in mind, but whenever we seem to get these “insider” tidbits, some official related news usually hits in the following couple weeks. So be on the lookout.

The first one is in regard to the previous rumor that the Batcave in The Dark Knight Rises is going to look like the Romanian caves that have been going around the net. According to the source, that is not so – the Batcave will look almost identical to the Batcave from Batman Begins, but obviously it has been updated with new technology.

Next, regarding the Batwing (though the source didn’t specifically name it that), it will be what we’ve seen in set photos, but enhanced with a CGI underbelly and wings.

Now, regarding the story, the source said it is an original script, but when you think of the following DC Comics comic book stories, put them all together and that is the story: “Knightfall,” Frank Miller’s “Batman: Year One,” and Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale’s “Batman: Dark Victory.” Update: We’ve just been given a bit more info that the story takes elements — some small, some big — from each of the comics and includes them into the story.

Finally regarding Bane, he is considered an “heir” as the leader of the League of Shadows much like in the comics, and also – Talia al Ghul is in the story.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra’s al Ghul.
