Joker 2 is now filming as director Todd Phillips has released a first look image of Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime.
The image reveals the aftermath from the first movie where Arthur Fleck is locked up in Arkham Asylum getting a shave where he just might first meet Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn, as in the comics, Harley is a psychiatrist named Harleen Quinzel who falls in love with her patient, the Joker (also shown in the Suicide Squad movie with Margot Robbie and Jared Leto.)
It has been reported that Joker 2 will in part be a musical involving Lady Gaga’s role, which we can guess might all exist in Arthur’s twisted mind.
“Day 1. Our boy. #joker,” posted Phillips.
The official title, Joker: Folie à Deux, refers to a French term for a medical condition involving “madness for two,” so it’s guessed the sequel deals with a female version of Joker who is just as crazy and dark as the Joaquin Phoenix version, again, likely Lady Gaga as Harley.
Recently also saw a big report offer that the new co-heads of the DCU, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are going to cancel a lot of DC, but it has been reported both the Phillips Joker and Matt Reeves’ Batman projects are safe, which learning that Joker 2 is now filming testifies to.
Joker: Folie à Deux gets released on October 4, 2024 and according to IMDb will also star Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumond, with Brendan Gleeson and Catherine Keener.
The first movie was a massive success and blew away all expectations as it brought in over $1 billion worldwide. Fans also liked the flick a lot as it has an 88% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score.
