Did Roman Reigns Fake Cancer For Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw?

Following a return to the ring last night for Monday Night RAW after a four-month absence, it is now being questioned if WWE Superstar Roman Reigns faked having cancer to use as an excuse to take time off and film the Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw movie with his cousin, Dwayne Johnson.

Social media is lit up with comments following Roman Reigns returning to RAW with fans questioning if cancer was some sort of angle and being used as a ā€œwork,ā€ which is a term in the wrestling industry to indicate something planned as part of a storyline.

Back in October saw Roman Reigns relinquish the WWE Universal Title to battle his returning leukemia, which had been in remission, with the wrestler revealing that he has had the disease for eleven years. The reason fans are questioning the truth surrounding the leukemia claims is that during those four months that he took time off, Roman Reigns filmed Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw, and now he returns right in time for Wrestlemania.

Roman Reigns Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw

This past January saw Dwayne Johnson post a pair of set images from the filming of Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw featuring Roman Reigns, but you will note in Johnson’s comments he mentions his cousin’s cancer. ā€œI’m also very grateful to spend this quality time with my cousin here in the islands as he takes life one day at a time to recover from leukemia,ā€ Johnson posted.

More than likely Roman Reigns claiming to have cancer is true, and that he is now again in remission following treatment. We can also add that Roman Reigns filming Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw is not as stressful on the body compared to taking bumps in the ring. It also seems as if Roman Reigns has a small role in the flick, with the scene taking place on an island battlingĀ some bad guys, with filming probably lasting only a few days or less for the WWE Superstar.

ā€œI am so grateful, I am so humbled, and I am so honored to announce this,ā€ Reigns said in the ring. ā€œThe good news is I’m in remission, y’all!ā€

WWE also posted video on their Instagram with Reigns offering, ā€œI’m back. I didn’t get enough. I said it before, I’m going to say it a lot. Thank you.ā€
