Erik Kripke, the showrunner of The Boys, took to social media to confirm the end of production on the series. Kripke posted a behind-the-scenes photo with a message marking the last time he’ll ever be on the show’s set.
“This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude. To #TheBoys family: I love you. To the fans: can’t wait for you to see the grand finale. That’s a wrap,” he tweeted.
The photo was taken by series star Karen Fukuhara, who plays Kimiko. Kripke tagged both Fukuhara and the official accounts for The Boys and Prime Video.

When does The Boys Season 5 get released?
The Boys Season 5 doesn’t have a release date as of yet. It’s expected in 2026. With Kripke announcing the series has wrapped, the release date might be announced soon, perhaps later this month at the San Diego Comic-Con.
New to the cast includes Jared Padalecki, Daveed Diggs in a mystery role, and Mason Dye as Bombsight.

What happened in Season 4?
Season 4 of The Boys picks up with Homelander on trial for murder but more powerful than ever, as his popularity continues to grow and the country becomes increasingly divided. Victoria Neuman inches closer to the presidency, secretly working with Homelander to consolidate power. Billy Butcher, now dying from Temp V, tries to reunite the team and stop Ryan from becoming like his father. The Boys—now largely led by Mother’s Milk—stay focused on their mission to bring down Vought, despite internal conflicts and rising public support for supes. Starlight cuts ties with The Seven and officially joins the team, while Hughie deals with personal grief and his strained relationship with Butcher. Frenchie and Kimiko face unresolved trauma and reconsider their roles in the fight. As tensions rise, Ryan finds himself caught between Butcher and Homelander, with the future of the country hanging in the balance.
The season concludes with a high-stakes finale as the team scrambles to prevent Neuman from taking the Oval Office. An assassination attempt on President-elect Robert Singer, carried out by a shapeshifter posing as Starlight, ends in a twisted engagement stunt and a violent standoff in a secret bunker. Butcher—his body now ravaged by cancerous Temp V mutations—kills Neuman and steals the last remaining vial of the supe-killing virus. In the aftermath, Homelander installs a puppet president, declares martial law, and has most of The Boys locked in black-site prisons. Annie escapes, but Ryan’s loyalties remain unclear. The post-credits scene reveals Soldier Boy in stasis, setting the stage for one final showdown in the upcoming final season.
