The casting call notices also confirm the vampire flick will be set in the 1930s, which those recent first-look Michael B. Jordan set pics confirmed, but that’s not all.
A casting call also says a scene or scenes will take place in 1992. More below.

In addition to Michael B. Jordan, the cast also includes Jack O’Connell, Delroy Lindo, Omar Benson Miller, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li, Lola Kirke, yao, Miles Caton and Peter Dreimanis.

Michael B. Jordan as a vampire hunter?
However, thanks to that first-look image, it seems as if Michael B. Jordan might be playing a vampire hunter.
Fans have pointed out Jordan looks a lot like Marvel’s Blade. Well, both Jordan and Coogler were at Marvel, so some fans are guessing the pair might be doing their version of Blade.
Interestingly enough, there are rumored similarities between “Grilled Cheese” and what Marvel Studios was going to do with the Mahershala Ali reboot in the MCU.
What are the casting call details?
Ryan Coogler is filming scenes in the small town of Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
Thanks to a local news report it is revealed the scenes are “set in the ’30s and they said Donaldsonville is the perfect location to shoot scenes that take place in the past.”
Another casting call asks for identical Black twins between 18-45 years who were able to work in New Orleans area in early April, so since Donaldsonville is about an hour away, maybe the twins were need for the 1930s scenes.
It also said the ’30 scenes will feature dancers who had to audition in front of choreographer Aakomon Jones who is known for Black Panther, Pitch Perfect, and DreamGirls.
It’s said they’re looking for dancers who know the following styles: Hip-hop (specifically Memphis Jookin/Breakdancing), Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Lindy Hop (1930s Juke Joint style), Traditional African Cultural Dance (Poro), Irish Folk/Celtic..
Regarding the 1992 scene, that’s said to involve a Chicago Blues Bar scene that also filmed in April, so apparently the flick will be set in different time periods. The casting for the scene also says filming will be in New Orleans and also that costume fittings will take place there.
When is the “Grilled Cheese” release date?
