Zack Snyder has showed off new footage from his upcoming sci-fi movie, Rebel Moon, and announced Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast.
On Tuesday, Zack Snyder posted makeup test footage of a female actress as an alien with large horns surrounded by smoke.
Snyder followed that up on Wednesday by announcing two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins (The Father, The Two Popes) will be voicing “Jimmy” an impossibly sentient JC1435 mechanized battle robot and one-time defender of the slain King.
Hopkins joins the previously announced cast of Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michael Huisman, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Staz Nair, Cary Elwes, Alfonso Herrera, Stuart Martin, Fra Free, Corey Stoll, Jena Malone, Rhian Rhees, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang.
Zack Snyder is the director, and writer along with Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad. Producers include Deborah Snyder, Wesley Coller and Zack Snyder for The Stone Quarry, and Eric Newman for Grand Electric. Executive producers are Bergen Swanson, Sarah Bowen for Grand Electric, Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad.
Rebel Moon is described as: When a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, they dispatch a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them take a stand.
Rebel Moon is the first feature to fall under the first look partnership between The Stone Quarry Productions, a production company founded by Zack and Deborah Snyder and their producing partner Wesley Coller, and Netflix.
