As first reported back in November, it's now confirmed that Fox Studios will be returning to Montreal for filming of a new X-Men movie.

As reported by the Montreal Journal, the new X-Men movie will start filming in May 2017 with a production office having already opened at MELS Studios.

"They will start shooting in May and they will occupy Studios 2 and 3 of MELS for several months," the president of MELS, Michel Trudel, said (translated via google).

"Thanks to its understanding of the needs of a shoot of this magnitude, MELS is one of the world's best movie studios," X-Men producer Todd Hallowell said (translated via google). "Michel Trudel and his entire team are the kind of partners with whom we work. We are delighted at Fox to return for a third time in Montreal to shoot the next X-Men."

It's reported the title and synopsis for the Montreal X-Men movie is unknown, but it has been rumored Fox is rebooting their X-Men universe. The latest X-Men movie rumor mentions a return to the Dark Phoenix Saga, which we guess would be following what happened with Sophie Turner's Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Another possibility is that Fox could start filming on the Josh Boone New Mutants movie, which just saw new details and concept art released.

Fox filmed three X-Men movies in Montreal with the last being X-Men: Apocalypse.
