The next X-Men film is stated to begin filming in 2017 with production to kick off November of 2016.
Word comes from The Montreal Journal offering the city will be the location of a third X-Men movie following X-Men: Days Of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse.
No specific details about the new X-Men movie are known, but it is stated Bryan Singer will be returning (translated via Bing).
The team of X-Men – led once again by Director Bryan Singer – will open its offices in production in November 2016 for a shoot in 2017.
Montreal's Mels Studios president Michel Trudel confirms the news (translated via Bing):
"It was already a miracle that it managed to draw an X-Men film at Montreal in 2013. Convince Fox to come back for a second and now a third is simply amazing, welcomes the big boss of the Mel's Studios, Michel Trudel, who said have worked hard in recent months to attract this mega-production in Montreal.
"It is still a great news for our industry when it welcomes this kind of production. We talk about films which have budgets over $ 200 million. A big production like X-Men generates economic benefits direct and indirect of several hundreds of millions of dollars and employs more than 2000 Québec technicians."
"Fox people are very satisfied with their two experiences of shooting in Montreal, and it is one of the reasons why they wish to return for the next X – Men, indicates Michel Trudel.
"They love our facilities, our technicians and they appreciate the fact that our studios are located five minutes from downtown and 15 minutes from the airport. Bryan Singer (Director of films) also love the city. It feels well in Montreal."
The report also again mentions Singer will return to the city to do X-Men: Apocalypse reshoots from January to late March which will feature Hugh Jackman (as Wolverine).
"X-Men: Apocalypse" has a May 27, 2016 release directed by Bryan Singer starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Ian McKellen, Rose Byrne, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Oscar Isaac.
