Following Money in the Bank, Raw on Netflix returned with an episode that was just okay overall, but at least it had a shocking ending, which set up things to come in the WWE universe.
John Cena / CM Punk Seth Rollins
Raw started off with John Cena which followed his loss at Money in the Bank courtesy of R-Truth. However, it wasn’t R-Truth that came out to confront Cena, it was CM Punk. They went back and forth, with Punk challenging Cena for the belt — tonight! However, and disappointingly, all it did was set up the match at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia. Seth Rollins also came out, but it went nowhere. Cue to commercial. I thought the segment felt really flat, and they failed to capitalize on recent events and to build on things.

Rhea Ripley vs. Kairi Sane vs. Roxanne Perez vs. Liv Morgan – it was a good match. They gave the win to Perez, who advances in the Queen of the Ring Tournament. I would have liked to see Ripley, who got the loudest pop. That said, Perez winning sets up tension with Liv Morgan.

Then R-Truth comes out in another segment that felt really flat. He comes out of the crowd, gets on top of the announce table and cuts off his locks. Now that was shocking! But it went nowhere. Who’s Truth going to feud with? Possibilities below.

Sami Zayn vs. Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Bron Breakker
Another good match: Sami Zayn vs. Penta vs. Dominik Mysterio vs. Bron Breakker. They gave the win to Sami Zayn who continues on to the King of the Ring. I would have liked to see Bron Breakker come out on top. I’m old school. I also want to see Bron Breakker return with his dad, Scott Steiner.

The WWE X account is currently lit up with reactions from fans (yo, social media manager! that’s the wrong belt !). I’m on the side where I can’t stand the Yeet! BS (lol). I also think Jey Uso needs mic lessons from his cousin, the Rock, as Jey Uso comes off pretty bad. I also think he needs to get in better shape. Good match, regardless.

Goldberg retirement match?
There is speculation that Jey Uso dropped the belt to set up Goldberg’s retirement match against Gunther.
While Goldberg’s retirement match date and location hasn’t been officially announced, it seems a given that it will take place next month at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12 in Atlanta, Georgia. Goldberg of course played for the University of Georgia football team. He also used to headline all those WCW events at the Georgia Dome. That said, would Goldberg’s last match be a title match? So maybe not.
If not Goldberg, Gunther winning could also be setting up a Gunther vs R-Truth feud. The other possibility is that it may be setting up R-Truth versus Jey Uso, for some reason.
