The official trailer for Wicked: For Good has dropped, setting the stage for the conclusion of the hit Broadway adaptation. Picking up where the 2024 film left off, the sequel sees Elphaba and Glinda fully divided, with the consequences of their choices reshaping the land of Oz.
Elphaba in Exile
In Wicked: For Good, Cynthia Erivo returns as Elphaba, now exiled and labeled as the Wicked Witch of the West. She hides in the Ozian forest, continuing to fight for the freedom of silenced Animals and seeking to reveal the truth about The Wizard, played by Jeff Goldblum.

Glinda in the Spotlight
Ariana Grande’s Glinda is now the face of Oz, promoted as the public figure of Goodness under Madame Morrible’s (Michelle Yeoh) direction. From her place in Emerald City, Glinda becomes a symbol of stability, even as her fame begins to clash with private regrets about her broken friendship with Elphaba.
Rising Conflict and Familiar Faces
With Glinda preparing to marry Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), tensions rise. Attempts to reconcile with Elphaba fail, leading to deeper divisions and major consequences for characters like Boq (Ethan Slater) and Nessarose (Marissa Bode). When a girl from Kansas arrives, everything begins to unravel.

Final Showdown
As public sentiment turns into open rebellion, Elphaba and Glinda are forced into one last confrontation. Their friendship—once the heart of the story—becomes the key to saving Oz or tearing it apart.
Returning Cast and Production Team
The cast includes Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James as Glinda’s assistants, and Sharon D. Clarke as the voice of Elphaba’s nanny, Dulcibear. Director Jon M. Chu returns, along with producers Marc Platt and David Stone. Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman also return as executive producers and writers.
A Record-Breaking Franchise
The first Wicked film grossed $750 million and won Oscars for Costume and Production Design. It also earned 10 nominations, including Best Picture. Wicked: For Good continues adapting the hit stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, based on Gregory Maguire’s novel.
Wicked: For Good releases November 21.
