Stephen Norrington takes us through the process of creating the Chestburster animatronic which actually isn’t made up of a whole lot of parts and is described as being mass produceable.

This little bugger first makes its appearance in the movie during Ripley’s nightmare, with the big reveal coming later in the film when the colonists are discovered with one begging to be killed – only not in time as the Chestburster lets its presence become known!
Aliens premiered in 1986 making $131 million at the box office starring Sigourney Weaver, Lance Henriksen and Bill Baxton with James Cameron as director.
