The Walking Dead Star Chandler “Carl” Riggs Signs On To Stephen King’s Mercy

The Walking Dead star Chandler Riggs, who plays Carl Grimes, has signed on to have a starring role in Stephen King’s new horror thriller, Mercy.

Joining Riggs is Super 8 star Joel Courtney, as the two play brothers that move with their mother to take care of the grandmother who, unknown to them, is really a witch that made an evil deal using black magic years earlier with the Ancient Ones.

The story is inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and is based on King’s short story Gramma, which was first published in Weirdbook magazine in 1984.

Chandler Riggs has recently become his own man on The Walking Dead when he was forced to shoot his mother to stop her from “turning,” and subsequently had to deal with the breakdown of his father and care of his newborn sister.
