Venom Passes $500 Million At Box Office

Venom Passes $500 Million At Box Office

Venom has smashed its way past the $500 million mark at the box office.

The Tom Hardy flick netted around $10.8 million for its fourth weekend bringing it to a current U.S. total of $187,282,314, with another $321,100,000 coming from foreign box offices, for a current worldwide tally of $508,382,314.

It is now expected that Venom will pass $600 million as it has yet to open in Japan and China.

While Sony has yet to announce it, it is expected the success of Venom will bring on sequels as Tom Hardy previously stated he signed on for a trilogy.

The sequel will feature Woody Harrelson as Carnage, with Harrelson’s manager recently telling Venom creator Todd McFarlane they are excited for Carnage in the sequel.

In addition, the success of Venom is launching Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff universe with the Jared Leto Morbius the Living Vampire movie next in line and due to start filming early next year.

Sony also has plans for flicks featuring Kraven the Hunter, Black Cat, Silver Sable, Silk, Jackpot, Knightwatch and more.

It has also been reported Sony wants to connect Venom to Spider-Man, who is currently on loan to Marvel Studios, and that Sony even wants their Spider-Man spinoff universe to connect to the MCU and Avengers.

A recent rumor offered that Kevin Feige wants to use Sony’s Norman Osborn for an MCU Dark Avengers movie.

The writer on Kraven also recently confirmed it will feature Spider-Man as well.
