The Flash Season Finale Easter Eggs

Last night saw The Flash season finale air, which was pretty darn amazing by all accounts.

The episode saw The Flash take on the Reverse Flash in a battle to save space and time, which it actually unleashed.

Barry was taken to the past where he went through a wormhole that also gave glimpses into his future, and Wells almost made it back to his future timeline.

Check out Easter Eggs from the episode, with the two biggest probably being the Jay Garrick helmet (that was previously leaked) as well as a first look at Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost in action.

The above video gives a great rundown as well (obvious spoiler warning), and whom I lifted some images and some info from.

THE FLASH SEASON FINALE EASTER EGGS:

Killer Frost:

Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost seen as Barry travelled through the worm hole (future version? alternate universe version?).

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20655:]]

Jay Garrick:

Now I found this interesting as it seemed like the helmet was thrown through the wormhole, and when Wells saw it he quickly wanted out of there. Perhaps that meant Garrick was hot on his trail? Or Garrick at least knew about Thawne and the time changes.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20656:]]

Wormhole:

The wormhole looks to be way for the series to introduce new characters, with Dr. Alchemy and Mirror Master being introduced in Season 2. It’s also possible the wormhole could introduce alternate timeline characters.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20661:]]

Hawkgirl:

We saw a first look at Hawkgirl, played by Ciara Renee, who will be a part of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20657:]]

Legends Of Tomorrow:

Barry saw The Legends Of Tomorrow as well.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20659:]]

New Flash costume:

Future Flash in the past scene wears a new costume (seen in future newspaper, I believe).

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20660:]]

Rip Hunter:

Wells name-dropped Rip Hunter, who first created the time sphere.; Rip Hunter is a member of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20662:]]

Flash Museum:

The glimpse at the future revealed The Flash Museum.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20658:]]

Prison:

Possibly a look ahead to The Flash Season 2 as we see Barry, similar to his father, looks to be imprisoned.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20663:]]

Harrison Wells:

Tom Cavanaugh will be back for The Flash Season 2 as Harrison Wells, but exactly what Wells and what version remains to be seen.

Cisco:

Wells tells Cisco he is a metahuman, with Cisco in the comics being Vibe – Wells said, Cisco is “sensitive to the vibrations of the universe.”

Captain Cold:

The episode featured Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, another member of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow

Stan Lee:

Dr. Stein says he may exclaim “Excelsior” if Barry can time travel.

Star Wars:

“May the speedforce be with you.”

Flashpoint:

Barry doesn’t save his mother in the episode because of what it may change, which looks to be a reference to the DC Comics event Flashpoint where Barry wakes up and everything has changed for the worse as a result of his mother being alive.

Update:

Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy:

“So long and thanks for all the fish” (hat tip: facebook)

First Look At Spoiler From The Flash Season 2

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20640:]]

Spoilers follow for tonight’s season finale of The Flash.

As Flash was accessing the speed force and travelling through the wormhole he saw glimpses of his past, present – and future!

Now we know why Danielle Panabaker dropped spoiler bombs the other day – it’s because this episode gave us a first look at Danielle Panabaker as Killer Frost! Check it out below.

The episode also saw Wells reveal to Cisco that Cisco is a metahuman, which explains why Cisco could remember the alternate timeline. In DC Comics lore, Cisco goes by the name of Vibe, and was recently given a new set of powers possibly making Cisco one of the most powerful metahumans on the planet, which we now see seems to fit in with The Flash TV series.

Daredevil Costume Concept Art For Netflix

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20634:]]

Check out a piece of Daredevil concept art revealed for the Marvel Netflix series.

Artist Ryan Meinerding is responsible for the following rendition of Charlie Cox’s look in the show.

“Joe Quesada got in touch and asked if I could help out,” Meinerding told Marvel.com. “Our whole team actually did designs, [including] Rodney Fuentebella, Andy Park, Jackson Sze, Josh Nizzi, and Anthony Francisco. I think we all did a round of designs as fast as we could, and they settled on one of mine. Beyond that, we did our normal process of modeling the head and the cowl [in] 3D with Josh Herman, and then I was involved throughout the costume creation process.”

Meinerding went on to explain creating the look isn’t that easy of a task.

“One of the most interesting things about Daredevil, that I hadn’t fully appreciated before I started working on the character, is that I think that head is one of the most difficult heads to design for a live action context,” Meinerding offered. “Because if you have a mask like Captain America’s, it’s difficult in it’s own ways, but you still have the actor’s eyes coming through. So you get performance, you get a sense of who they are, of their expression, of what they’re doing. [As a result] the bottom half of the face matches the top half, in terms of expression. With Daredevil, because half of his face has to be covered and has its own expression and the actor’s face is going to be doing something else, it’s actually a very difficult challenge to come up with something up top that’s not going to bump with something down below.”

“Daredevil” is currently on Netflix with all 13 episodes; Season 2 is being developed and will be released next year.

Supergirl Not Crossing Over With Flash & Arrow Just Yet

Supergirl Trailer

While Supergirl shares the same creators as Arrow and The Flash, it’s learned CBS doesn’t want to share, at least not just yet.

Grant Gustin as The Flash and Melissa Benoist as Supergirl both grace the cover to the latest issue of Variety magazine.

The website offers that no immediate crossovers are being planned.

“The network has said publicly at this point they’re going to keep her to themselves,” says Berlanti. “I always approach the shows as a fan first, so I would love to see (a crossover). I think in success, all things are possible. But there’s a lot that would have to happen before everybody might say yes to that.”

While Supergirl may not crossover, fans will still get their full as Arrow and The Flash will feature crossover events, which includes the new spinoff DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

“We do have crossovers planned,” says DC chief content officer Geoff Johns. “The point of building these three shows out on the CW network is we can make a comicbook world. That’s really the secret formula starting to emerge on television for the first time.”

“Supergirl” premiers in November on CBS.

Internet Explodes Over Sansa’s Wedding In Game Of Thrones; George R.R. Martin Responds

(warning: graphic content)

Spoilers for last night’s episode follow.

The end of last night’s Game Of Thrones episode saw Sansa marry Ramsay Bolton, and when they went to the bedroom to seal the deal, Ramsay told Reek (Theon) to stay and watch, much to a horrified Sansa and Reek. Ramsay then told Sansa to take off her clothes and proceeded to have intercourse with Sansa (which was more akin to rape than anything else).

Following the episode, the various social networks lit up with complaints, and now Game Of Thrones creator George R. R. Martin took to his blog to respond:

It probably should also be pointed out the scene was different and more graphic in the book as Ramsay had Theon get involved, I believe.

I have a lot of fans asking me for comment.

Let me reiterate what I have said before.

How many children did Scarlett O’Hara have? Three, in the novel. One, in the movie. None, in real life: she was a fictional character, she never existed. The show is the show, the books are the books; two different tellings of the same story.

There have been differences between the novels and the television show since the first episode of season one. And for just as long, I have been talking about the butterfly effect. Small changes lead to larger changes lead to huge changes. HBO is more than forty hours into the impossible and demanding task of adapting my lengthy (extremely) and complex (exceedingly) novels, with their layers of plots and subplots, their twists and contradictions and unreliable narrators, viewpoint shifts and ambiguities, and a cast of characters in the hundreds.

There has seldom been any TV series as faithful to its source material, by and large (if you doubt that, talk to the Harry Dresden fans, or readers of the Sookie Stackhouse novels, or the fans of the original WALKING DEAD comic books)… but the longer the show goes on, the bigger the butterflies become. And now we have reached the point where the beat of butterfly wings is stirring up storms, like the one presently engulfing my email.

Prose and television have different strengths, different weaknesses, different requirements.

David and Dan and Bryan and HBO are trying to make the best television series that they can.

And over here I am trying to write the best novels that I can.

Sophie Turner also responded (via EW):

But then I found out it was Ramsay and I’m back at Winterfell. I love the fact she’s back home reclaiming what’s hers. But at the same time she’s being held prisoner in her own home. When I got the scripts, it was bit like, dude, I felt so bad for her. But I also felt excited because it was so sick, and being reunited with Theon too, and seeing how their relationship plays out. Theon’s a member of the Stark clan but she thinks he totally betrayed and killed her brothers. It’s a messed-up relationship between them

When I read that scene, I kinda loved it. I love the way Ramsay had Theon watching. It was all so messed up. It’s also so daunting for me to do it. I’ve been making [producer Bryan Cogman] feel so bad for writing that scene: “I can’t believe you’re doing this to me!” But I secretly loved it.

I completely agree with them [the fans]! After Joffrey, she’s escaped him and you think she’s going to lose her virginity to a guy who’s really sweet and takes care of her and she’s thrown in with a guy who’s a whole lot worse. But I kind of like the fact she doesn’t really know what a psycho he is until that night. She has a sense, but she’s more scared of his father. And then that night everything gets so f–ked up.

Game of Thrones producer Bryan Cogman responds (via EW):

“This is Game of Thrones,” he said soberly. “This isn’t a timid little girl walking into a wedding night with Joffrey. This is a hardened woman making a choice and she sees this as the way to get back her homeland. Sansa has a wedding night in the sense she never thought she would with one of the monsters of the show. It’s pretty intense and awful and the character will have to deal with it.”

Cogman added that the scene is also “an important turning point” for Sansa. “She’s seen Theon and hated him and thinks he killed her brothers and betrayed them but she’s very conflicted by what she’s seeing there,” he said.

Arrow Season 4 To Be Lighter In Tone

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20607:]]

When Arrow returns for Season 4 in the Fall, it’s sounding likely the series will be somewhat different than the darker three seasons that preceded it.

Stephen Amell recently stated the Arrow costume has been retired and hinted at Green Arrow, meaning more than likely a brighter colored costume.

To go along with that possible brighter costume, now showrunner Marc Guggenheim says Arrow Season 4 will be lighter in tone – and we are guessing more “superheroic” with something more in line with The Flash.

“It will take a lighter tone. That’s pretty much the only thing I say without spoiling it,” Guggenheim told io9.

Guggenheim continues with mention Season 3 was kicked off by the death of Sara Lance, aka Black Canary, that really set the tone for Season 4, which while they don’t regret doing, we do see they undid as Caity Lotz returns as White Canary in the spinoff DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

“We’ve been working for about a month now in the writers’ room, talking about season 4, and I think that one thing we all collectively understood was season 3 beginning with Sara’s death, because it’s the death of a major character on the show, it set a tone for the remainder of the season,” Guggenheim offered. “And I’m not the least bit apologetic for that tone. I happen to like dark and I like the fact that Arrow is a pretty dark show particularly for a network show. That said, every year you want to mix things up and there was sort of a collective desire on all of our parts to try to inject a little bit more lightness into the show, a little bit more humor. It’s not going to radically change. The show’s still going to be the show but in terms of tone we’re coming off a very very hard season for all of our characters. We wanted to try to mix it up a little bit.”

Regarding DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, Guggenheim offers it will be even bigger than Arrow and The Flash.

“It’s definitely not just the team show. I think the show is going to be bigger, louder, more ambitious even than Flash and Arrow. I think Flash raised the bar on Arrow in terms of adding superheroes and we’re looking to now have the show raise the bar on Flash so you feel like the shows are getting bigger and bigger. One thing we sort of always tell you is that with Flash we’re really trying to provide a feature film every week. With this show we’re trying to provide a summer blockbuster every week.”

“The Flash” and “Arrow” return this Fall; “DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow” is due mid-season 2016.

Caity Lotz Talks White Canary & DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (Video)

Fan-favorite actoress Caity Lotz was killed off at the start of Season 3 of Arrow, but that hasn’t stopped her from joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Lotz has been confirmed by the CW as White Canary, and as revealed in the Legends Of Tomorrow trailer, Sara Lance apparently returns courtesy the Lazarus Pit.

Now TV Line catches up with Lotz – where we see she is in phenomenal shape – offering some details on the new series.

“I’m going to be playing the White Canary,” Lotz confirms.

Lotz continues with mention she thought she was done once Sara was killed off.

“[I]’m really excited,” she said. “I thought when my character died it was like ‘okay [wipes her hands clean].’ And then it was ike ‘I think we’re doing a spinoff’ so I was like ‘let’s get back into that DC world.’ It’s fun. I’ve been training a lot and getting ready.”

The White Canary will also have a similar set of skills to Lotz’s Black Canary, with the potential for an added bonus.

“Martial arts is her thing,” Lotz offered. “I’ve been training with double sticks a lot, so I’m really hoping that is going to be my weapon – bow staff that breaks apart.”

Regarding DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow, Lotz teases: “It’s going to be big. Even I didn’t know that much about the show, and I was like ‘I want to do it. I trust you guys.’ When we were shooting our teaser, they were telling me some of the stuff that is going to be happening, and I was like ‘this is way cooler than I’  – not that I didn’t think it wouldn’t be cool – but just stuff that I wasn’t imagining or picturing. It’s going to be really fun to shoot, and I think people are going to really like it.”

“DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow” premiers in 2016.

Watch: Stephen Amell Teases Green Lantern For Arrow Season 4 & More

Following up on The Flash Easter egg which references Hal Jordan, now Stephen Amell teases Green Lantern for Arrow Season 4.

TV Line caught up with Amell in the above video and asked the actor what’s in store for Arrow Season 4.

Spoilers follow if you haven’t seen the Arrow Season 3 finale.

Amell offers he won’t be Arrow anymore.

“Roy sacrificed himself. He outed himself as the Arrow,” Amell said. “So if I were to recreate the suit and go out, it would undo all the sacrifice that he made. So the Arrow persona, for better for worse, it can’t exist anymore.”

It’s then remarked it might be a matter of just putting the word “green” in front of it one day, with Amell replying, “I mean would that do it? We’ll see.”

It’s also remarked it couldn’t have been a coincidence that Damien Darhk was in Starling City, and that it’s safe to say the name will be heard again. Amell agreed: “Safe to say we will hear that name again.”

Amell continued with more teasers with mention of Green Lantern’s hometown of Coast City.

“H.I.V.E. Damien Darhk. Um. Coast City. All that good stuff.”

Coast City has been mentioned numerous times in both Arrow and The Flash, but the last episode of The Flash was the first time Hal Jordan was referenced with mention of a missing Ferris Air pilot.

Cosmic Book News was told by a DC insider plans are underway for Green Lantern to be a part of the Arrow and Flash universe.

Update: Showrunner Marc Guggenheim says Arrow Season 4 will be lighter in tone.

Star Wars & Marvel TV Channels Possibly On The Way

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20580:]]

Possibly joining the Disney channels, ESPN and ABC could be Star Wars and Marvel.

SlashFilm reports at a recent investors call, Disney CEO Bob Iger mentioned the possibility of Star Wars and Marvel channels.

“We have said that with these channels and these brands — ESPN, ABC, Disney, maybe even down the road something related to Star Wars and Marvel — we do have an ability as a company to take product, specifically filmed entertainment, television, movies, directly to consumers,” Iger offered.

It’s noted Iger didn’t elaborate on the Star Wars or Marvel channels, but it’s not too hard to guess what they may feature.

Obviously a Star Wars or Marvel channel would feature all the past movies and animated series, with the possibility futher down the line of having original shows and series. It’s even possible one day that the Star Wars or Marvel Disney channels would exclusively feature the branded series – say, instead of Netflix.

As of right now, it’s basically just talk, but the potential is definitely out there. An added bonus if they do create original content for the Star Wars and Marvel channels would be the use of more obscure characters.

Spoiler & Spoiler Teased For The Flash & Legends Of Tomorrow

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20577:]]

It’s going to be difficult to keep spoilers away from The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow as not only are apparent set pics leaking, but the actors are revealing key details themselves.

That said, we’ll try to keep the specifics away from the headlines until they are officially released by DC or the CW.

Spoilers follow.

Yesterday saw a spoiler-filled image featuring Jay Garrick’s helmet, which was said to be a part of The Flash season finale. Now, if it’s legit, it’s looking likely the image is actually from the set of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow. An updated pic from a Russian website has surfaced revealing the scene:

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20576:]]

The next spoiler comes from actress Danielle Panabaker, who participated in a Reddit Q&A, and let it be known she will become Killer Frost, and that the costume is all ready.

I have read a little about Killer Frost in the comic books. Our producers and writers have a history of honoring the comic books, but also putting their own spin on things, so I’m excited to see what they come up with for the show

Watch the season finale on Tuesday!

yes – from the beginning I knew that Caitlin Snow becomes Killer Frost. And I can’t wait to suit up and duke it out with the boys!

Yes. They have made a Killer Frost costume.

Panabaker also seemingly confirms Jay Garrick.

I’m excited about the potential of Jay Garrick. I’m terrible with pick up lines though

Flash, Arrow & Legends Of Tomorrow To Have Event Crossovers Every Season

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20555:]]

In a rather no-brainer for the CW, it’s been announced The Flash and Arrow will have annual crossovers as well as interacting with the new spinoff DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow.

Following the success of the two-part crossover “Flash Vs. Arrow” and “Brave and the Bold,” CW president Mark Pedowitz stated during the network’s Upfront presentation that the shows will continue to crossover every year.

“The crossover was so successful, we will be making it a special event in fourth quarter every year,” Pedowitz said, reports St. Louis’ KPLR 11 News.

Pedowitz also added the main event crossover won’t be the only one that fans will see as there will be “mini-crossovers” with characters from Arrow, The Flash and DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow appearing on the different shows.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is part of the Flash/Arrow universe,” Pedowitz offered. “Characters will criss-cross as needed and we’ll have big crossovers, as we can acquire them, at the right time.”

The Flash returns with Season 2 in the Fall along with Arrow Season 4; DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow will premiere mid-season in 2016.

Possible Surprise Spoiler In Flash Season Finale

Possible spoiler for the season finale of The Flash follows.

We’ll post it after the Buried Alien.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:20554:]]

Last episode saw Green Lantern referenced and now another fan-favorite character apparently gets referenced in The Flash season finale.

None other than Jay Garrick!

A spoiler Easter Egg pic apparently from what looks to be a Russian website landed online of a scene from The Flash Season finale featuring Wells in his time chair where Jay Garrick’s Flash helmet can be seen on the floor.

Obviously as the episode hasn’t aired yet, it’s hard to authenticate its authenticity.

Check it out (via reddit).

Update: It’s likely the image is actually from the set of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

Update #2: Danielle Panabaker seemingly confirms Jay Garrick.

It’s not the best quality, but you can watch it above.

Supergirl airs Mondays in November on CBS.

You can watch the Supergirl 6 minute trailer here.

Synopsis:

SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant (Golden Globe Award winner Calista Flockhart), who just hired the Daily Planet’s former photographer, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime.
