Tom Holland Spider-Man Rumored For Tom Hardy Venom Movie

Spider-Man is being rumored for the new Venom movie.

According to Jon Schnepp, known for The Death of “Superman Lives”: What Happened?, The ABCs of Death, Metalocalypse and a regular contributor to a YouTube channel, Tom Holland is set to appear as Spider-Man in the Tom Hardy Venom movie that is currently filming.

Update: It’s said that Tom Holland has been spotted on the set of Venom for the past two days.

Update #2: It’s said Peter Parker will be appearing in Venom and not Spider-Man.

It was previously thought that Spider-Man wouldn’t be appearing in the Venom movie due to the character being loaned out to Marvel Studios for the Spider-Man: Homecoming and Avengers: Infinity War films.

The Spider-Man character rights are owned by Sony, so if there is no exclusivity clause in their Marvel deal, Sony could very well stick Spider-Man in Venom, which marks the first of Sony’s Spiderverse movies and also includes plans for a Black Cat and Silver Sable flick.

Sony’s Amy Pascal has hinted on multiple occasions that Spider-Man would be returning to Sony as she did state that following the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequels that Spider-Man would be back at the company.

Last June did see Pascal also state that Venom took place within the Spider-Man: Homecoming universe, so the above rumor could be valid.

Now whether Venom takes place within the MCU is unclear as Spider-Man could simply be used within both the Sony universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but the Sony and Marvel universes may not simply reference each other.

Of course with the Disney and Fox deal leading to the X-Men and Fantastic Four back at Marvel, maybe plans are underway for a giant Marvel film universe?

Venom has an October 5, 2018 release date directed by Ruben Fleischer also starring Jenny Slate, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed.

Tom Holland next appears as Spider-Man in The Avengers: Infinity War out May 4, 2018.
