Good news for fans of the Wall Crawler as Tom Holland confirms a third solo Spider-Man movie!
Tom Holland confirms a Spider-Man trilogy with AlloCine on Facebook:
Tom Holland: There is still a lot of room for Peter Parker and Spider-Man especially to grow in the next two movies. He’s definitely not the finished article by the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. And I really look forward to exploring the different ways that he can grow up and grow through puberty I guess, and yeah, it’s going to be a couple of exciting movies.
Allocine: And you said two movies. Does that mean Homecoming 2 and 3?
Tom Holland: Yeah, there will be Spider-Man 2 and 3. It won’t be Homecoming 2 and 3.
Allocine: We knew about the second one, but not the third one.
Tom Holland: Now you know. Sorry, Marvel. Whoops. That’s out.
Interestingly enough, at the recent Cinemacon, Sony’s Amy Pascal said Spider-Man would be returning to Sony following the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Maybe Marvel made a deal for a third movie or possibly Pascal meant the sequels to Homecoming? Or does it mean the third Spider-Man Homecoming movie will be put out by Sony only without Marvel Studios?
Hopefully Amy Pascal is simply wrong and Sony and Marvel continue their deal, which is obviously benefiting both companies.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits July 7th.
