Sony has announced Tom Hardy will play Eddie Brock and Venom in the new Venom solo movie.
Tom Hardy was actually my pick to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but Venom is an excellent choice as well!
THR also reports Zombieland‘s Ruben Fleischerr will be directing Venom.
The Venom movie has an October 5, 2018 release with the script from Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner, with Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal producing.
Marvel Studios is not involved, and the plot is presently unknown.
Sony is also developing a Black Cat and Silver Sable Spider-Man spinoff movie.
