Though heavily speculated for Deadpool & Wolverine as Dazzler, itâs claimed Taylor Swift might be joining the MCU in another role, for the secret Scarlett Johansson project said to be in development for Disney+.
Taylor Swift happens to be friends with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy, as Levy directed her music video short, and they appeared together along with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman last year at an NFL game.
So there is speculation Taylor Swift could be playing the mutant, Dazzler, who has the power to convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, which would obviously fit well with the superstar singer.
Disney wants that Swifties money
Taylor Swift also has another Deadpool connection in that her ticket sales happen to be better than the Merc With A Mouth.
Earlier today saw Fandango offer insights into the Deadpool & Wolverine first-day ticket sales, but they didnât manage to top Taylor Swiftâs The Eras Tour ticket sales from last year.
So since Disney+ apparently isnât doing all that well, as Bob Iger said Disney has a massive $4 billion streaming loss, maybe Disney wants part of that Taylor Swift audience and money?
Taylor Swift as Marvelâs Blonde Phantom?
The rumor comes via Daniel RPK who claims Marvel Studios is considering Taylor Swift for the lead role in the Blonde Phantom series.
Itâs known Scarlett Johansson has been developing a secret Marvel project with it said to be Blonde Phantom.
The character is actually from the â40s and is a spin on the Superman and Lois story, where Blonde Phantom is the hero, albeit with no superpowers, who is in love with her detective boss and saves him as he goes out investigating. Likewise, the boss is in love with Blonde Phantom, but not her real world alter ego.
So according to the rumor, Taylor Swift is in talks with Marvel to play Blonde Phantom and not Dazzler in Deadpool & Wolverine.
