Grant Gustin Responds To Ezra Miller Flash Bashing

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23952:]]

Following the recent “Dawn of the Justice League” special which featured concept art of Ezra Miller as The Flash in addition to comments from the actor, some fans took to their social networks to voice their support for the TV version of The Flash, Grant Gustin.

In case you aren’t aware, the DC TV universe (Arrow, Flash) is differerent and separate than the movie universe (Batman Vs. Superman, Justice League). Grant Gustin plays Barry Allen, aka The Flash, on the TV series, while Ezra Miller has been cast for the DC movies.

Now this has caused some contention amongst the fans as many feel Grant Gustin should be the movie version of The Flash  (Arrow star Stephen Amell shares similar sentiments), and Gustin has taken notice.

Grant Gustin took to his Twitter account to share his thoughts on the casting and offered his support for Ezra Miller while also noting he, of course, would have liked to play the movie Flash.

New Batman Vs. Superman Details Include Flash, Aquaman & Luthor

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23138:]]

Some new details about Batman Vs. Superman are learned from the Comic-Con Experience out of Brazil as costume designer Michael Wilkinson talked about Batman, Superman, Flash, Aquaman and Lex Luthor.

Ezra Miller already confirmed Flash for the movie, but now a new detail is learned in that this version of The Flash won’t be as powerful as the other Justice League members.

“He will have a small appearance and will not be as strong as the other Justice League Heroes.”

Wilkinson also offered:

“I’m not really at the liberty to talk about The Flash right now, but it’s something that you’ll be seeing in the future in our films. You do get a glimpse of him, of course, in Batman v Superman. But I’m really looking forward to taking the amazing, iconic costume for The Flash and interpreting it in a fresh way where Ezra Miller is playing The Flash. He’s an extraordinary performer, he has a sort of interesting sense of humor and the youth that will be great for Barry Allen and I think he’s going to make a great Flash.”

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:23139:]]

Wilkinson also teased that Jason Momoa’s Aquaman undergoes some sort of change in Batman Vs. Superman that sees him don two costumes.

“…have two uniforms in the movie. “He will start one way and will develop for a different look,” says Wilkinson.

Prior to the release of the latest Batman Vs. Superman trailer, WB revealed a scene which saw Superman as a bad guy unmasking Batman. Just as many fans online speculated, it’s a dream sequence as Wilkinson confirms it’s Batman’s nightmare. Note: The costume Batman is wearing in the scene has already been revealed to be “Nightmare Batman” as part of the action figure line, so this news shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise.

… in Wayne’s dream, the world turned into a post-apocalyptic wasteland in the style of Mad Max, in which Superman became a despot and have an army of followers, composed of soldiers and by flying beings that appear in the trailer.

“It’s like a dream that Ben has, so we wanted to, it has almost a Mad Max quality to it where it’s like the end of the world, trying to survive and then of course Superman and his minions come, so it’s sort of a way of representing the amazing amounts of, the sort of obsessive quality that Bruce Wayne has about the threat of Superman.”

Wilkinson also confirms that Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor will be featured in other DC films, and that the look of Lex will change.

Wilkinson talked about Lex Luthor, revealing that the visual of the villain will evolve over the other films by DC.

Ezra Miller & Charles Roven Talk Differences With Grant Gustin’s Flash

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22953:]]

Even though the movie and TV universes are separate, Warner Bros. may run into the problem of having two actors play The Flash as the Grant Gustin version is extremely well-liked and popular amongst the fans (something Marvel won’t have a problem with).

Now while on the set of his latest movie, the Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, Ezra Miller talks about his version of The Flash with EW.com:

“Well, [first] it’s going to be a movie, I’d like for it to be an exploration of a human being, a multi-dimensional human being, to speak…Wow, I just made such a pun, without meaning to…. I’d like the character to have many dimensions. But really, I’d like him to have the usual dimensions we know and love, and then some extra ones that are part of the amazing consideration of this superhero. I hope to realize him as a person, and I think what’s most exciting for me in superhero mythologies is when we feel the humanity of someone who is heroic — or the heroism of someone who is a flawed, deeply human person.”

Last week also saw Batman producer Charles Roven weigh in on the popularity of The Flash, with Roven confirming there are separate universes. Interestingly enough, Roven states he doesn’t have the answer regarding the popularity of The Flash TV series affecting the movie. Check it out below.

Ezra Miller will be featured as Barry Allen/possibly The Flash next March in Batman Vs. Superman followed by the 2017 Justice League Part 1 film and then the March 3, 2018 Flash standalone movie.

Ezra Miller Confirmed For Batman Vs. Superman

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:21943:]]

Cosmic Book News was the first to tell you members of the Justice League would be appearing in Batman Vs. Superman.

In addition to Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman, it’s now confirmed Ezra Miller, the DCCU version of The Flash, will be featured in Dawn of Justice.

The DCEU Twitter feed reveals Ezra Miller told a fan that Barry Allen’s hair will be kept longer for Batman Vs. Superman; his Flash suit is described as having a post-apocalyptic look to it, and Ezra hinted he will have more of a slender ripped physique rather than a bulky muscular look for The Flash.

In addition to Batman Vs. Superman, Ezra Miller will be appearing in Justice League and the standalone The Flash movie, which is slated for a 2018 release.

Watch: Ezra Miller Talks The Flash; Mentions Parallel Universe With TV

Do we have our first confirmation of  DC movie/TV multiverse?

Maybe not, but watch the video above of the DCCU Flash Ezra Miller talking how excited he is about playing Barry Allen where he’s questioned about watching the TV Flash. Miller responds rather enthusiastically that he thinks the TV series is “awesome” and “it’s parallel universes.”

Here are some of the highlights:

On The Flash:

Barry Allen is the hero of the Silver Age who follows a lot of really interesting discoveries in physics. Where he comes from, we figured out the Event Horizon was there, and he was the character who was created through our mythos machine of comic books to break that Event Horizon, so we could explore in fantasy… I think that’s an interesting idea, and what’s an interesting idea to me is, ‘What the f**k does that do to someone?’

Talks about Zack Snyder:

Zack got on the phone and said some stuff. I was pretty quickly sold.

The Flash TV Series:

I’m not avoiding it. I’m not avoiding it at all. I think it’s awesome! C’mon, we’re The Flash! It’s parallel universes! Grant Gustin is The Flash AND I’m The Flash, don’t you see? It’s the Event Horizon, we crossed it baby! Grant and I are chillin’, we’re gonna have a race, it’s gonna be dope. Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day. It’s going to be dope!

On reading comics:

I’ve been a comic guy, but I’m going in as hard as possible because I have a serious excuse to. I have the ultimate license to geek out SO HARD all the time! Do you understand what I’m going through?!

“The Flash” movie has a 2018 release.

Here’s a peek at Barry Allen concept art that was shown of at Comic-Con along with Green Lantern Corps:
