DC’s The Flash movie is currently in search of at least its third director, following Rick Famuyiwa recently departing the movie over “creative differences,” and Seth Grahame-Smith leaving a while back.
While the search continues, Cinema Blend caught up with the DCEU’s Barry Allen, Ezra Miller, while doing press for his latest movie, Fantastic Beasts, and asked the actor what The Flash movie needs.
“I think that the most important quality is the open heart,” Ezra Miller offered. “I think that The Flash has to be a story that is heartfelt. Because I think that’s where the lightning really is.”
It’s unknown specifically why Rick Famuyiwa left The Flash, but it’s reported Rick Famuyiwa’s vision of The Flash movie clashed with WB because Famuyiwa wanted to make a movie with more edge than what the studio wanted to go with.
It’s also suggested WB may delay the start of filming for The Flash as well as the release date, which is supposed to be March 2018.
Ezra Miller debuted in Batman Vs. Superman followed by a cameo in Suicide Squad (watch below) and can next be seen as The Flash in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, out November 17, 2017.
