SUPER HERO HIGH PREMIERES SATURDAY, MARCH 19 ON BOOMERANG

THE ALL-NEW ANIMATED SPECIAL IS FROM

WARNER BROS. CONSUMER PRODUCTS, DC ENTERTAINMENT,

WARNER BROS. ANIMATION AND MATTEL

Tune into Boomerang on Saturday, March 19 at 10 a.m. for an action-packed hour with Super Hero High, a special featuring the stellar lineup of female Super Heroes from DC Super Hero Girls, the new comic universe from Warner Bros. Consumer Products, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation and Mattel. In addition to the special, exclusive shorts inspired by this fun and immersive world that encourages girls to discover their own super-heroic potential are also now available to view on the Cartoon Network video app.

Super Hero High is buzzing with excitement over new student, Supergirl. But when Supergirl crash lands into the cafeteria, it’s evident that though she has incredible power, she has a long way to go before she becomes a Super Hero. Too intimidated by the other supers to ask them for assistance, Supergirl turns to helpful I.T. girl, Barbara Gordon. Barbara takes Supergirl under her wing and introduces her to the sweet, old librarian, Granny Goodness. As Barbara helps Supergirl learn to harness her powers, Wonder Woman joins them and becomes a mentor and friend to Supergirl. Meanwhile, the Junior Detective Club (The Flash, Bumblebee and Hawkgirl) investigates a mysterious rash of security breaches centered around the teleportation “Boom Tubes.” Could it all be because of reformed Super-Villain and Super Hero High Vice-PrincipalGorilla Grodd – or something far worse?

The Super Hero High television special stars Anais Fairweather as Supergirl, Mae Margaret Whitman as Barbara Gordon and features an all-star voice cast of DC Comics universe veterans, including Greg Cipes, Tara Strong, Ashley Eckstein, John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny, Helen Slater and Dean Cain. Jennifer Coyle (Bob’s Burgers) is the television special’s producer and director. Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) serves as executive producer. Shea Fontana (DC Super Hero Girls) serves as writer of the television special and animated shorts, as well as the DC Comics graphic novel.

The DC Super Hero Girls world centers on the female Super Heroes of the DC Comics universe during their formative high school years—prior to discovering their full super power potential. Featuring a completely new artistic style and aesthetic, DC Comics’ icons such as Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, Katana and many more, make their unprecedented teenaged introduction. Each character has her own storyline that explores what teen life is like as aSuper Hero, including discovering her unique abilities, nurturing her remarkable powers and mastering the fundamentals of being a hero.

DC Super Hero Girls merchandise is on shelves nationwide, exclusively at Target. Featured products from the new line include: toys, dress up, apparel, accessories, publishing and more. Master toy partner Mattel unveils its new DC Super Hero Girls collection, featuring the industry-firsts: the first-ever 6-inch action figures designed for girls; first 12-inch collection of action dolls featuring strong, athletic bodies that stand on their own in heroic poses; and first-ever action role-play toys for girls.

Vanessa Hudgens To Star In DC “Powerless” Comedy

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24417:]]

The new NBC DC Comics comedy series Powerless has cast Vanessa Hudgens as its star.

Hudgens will play Emily Locke, described by The Wrap as an insurance claims adjuster who loves her job because she gets to help people; Emily likes to fly under the radar and just get her work done. She finds herself increasingly exasperated by the disruptive antics of the various superheroes in her city.

Powerless has previously been described as a workplace comedy set at one of the worst insurance companies in America — with the twist being that it also takes place in the universe of DC Comics. It’s was also previously said the focus of the series is on the ordinary, “power-less” folk working at the insurance company who often envy the men and women outside their window who make headlines with their supernatural powers.

Vanessa Hudgens is known for Highschool Musical, Spring Breakers and recently starred as Rizzo in Fox’s Grease Live musical.

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24327:]]

PREMIUM 6’’ ACTION FIGURES FEATURE CHARACTERS FROM MAN OF STEEL, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE AND SUICIDE SQUAD

All-New 6’’ Harley Quinn Action Figure Line Based on Art Style of Award-Winning Artist Amanda Conner Set to Debut in 2016

Fan-Favorite Batman: The Animated Series Action Figure Line Brings Iconic Batwing from 1990s TV Series to Life as 36’’ Toy Replica

DC Collectibles, the exclusive line of toy and collector items from DC Entertainment (DCE), will showcase its exciting 2016 product line-up at New York Toy Fair including a first-ever 6’’ premium action figure line based on Warner Bros. recent and upcoming DC films including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. In addition to the film-inspired line, in 2016 DC Collectibles will introduce a wide array of new statues, action figures and collectible items based on DCE’s comic and media properties and feature iconic characters Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, and more.

The new, ongoing DC films action figure line was created specifically with toy collectors in mind, delving deep into character line-ups and offering up to 40+ points of articulation – the most articulation points ever produced by DC Collectibles.

“This is the first time DC Collectibles has made action figures based on DC films, and with this much articulation and attention to detail, we’re not holding anything back,” said Geoff Johns, chief creative officer of DC Entertainment. “Its exciting to see our DC film slate bring to life so many great DC characters, and DC Collectibles is following suit with our action figure line. This line will include everything from Batman to Superman to Wonder Woman, and even the obscure characters that will pop up in the cinematic universe. I can’t wait for fans of our films to get their hands on these figures.”

The first wave of DC films action figures will hit stores in Fall 2016 and will include Zod and Faora from Man of Steel and Armored Batman and Superman from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The first Suicide Squad action figures are set to release in 2017.

DC Collectibles will also debut an all-new Designer Series action figure line dedicated to fan-favorite DC Comics character, Harley Quinn. Taken straight from the pages of DC Comics, the 6.75’’ action figures are inspired by the art style of critically acclaimed artist Amanda Conner, and will feature Connor’s most popular character designs of the Crown Princess of Crime and each will include custom accessories.

“I’m really excited to be a part of this new line from DC Collectibles,” said Harley Quinn artist and co-writer Amanda Conner. “It’s been a fun, wild ride over the past few years, and I’m so happy that Harley’s popularity continues to explode. Seeing my designs, and the many different personalities of Harley Quinn, brought to life as action figures is simultaneously thrilling and humbling (if that’s even possible). This toy line adds a whole new level of whacky, wonderful insanity to the Harley world, and the fans are going to love it!”

DC Collectibles will also expand the bestselling Batman: The Animated Series action figure line based on the award-winning Warner Bros. Animation TV series, producing new action figures as well as a first-ever 36’’ Batwing. The Batman: The Animated Series Batwing marks the second vehicle from the line following last year’s hit Batmobile replica, and will feature light, slide-able door access and room for two 6’’ action figures.

“Our popular Batman: The Animated Series line continues to strike a nostalgic chord with fans and it’s really exciting to see the positive reception,” said Kevin Kiniry, vice president, Creative Services, at DC Entertainment. “We were the first to bring fans the Batman: The Animated Series Batmobile scaled for 6’’ action figures, and we’re very proud to also be the first to bring fans the Batwing at this scale as well.”

Other new products scheduled for 2016 include additions to the highly popular DC Comics Icons action figure line, as well as first-ever corresponding accessory packs for the Icons figures.
