Check out the “Hall of Justice” podcast below featuring director Zack Snyder talking about Batman Vs. Superman, Justice League and the DC TV Universe.
Highlights include Snyder talking about whether or not the DC TV universe effects the movies:
This is the bottom line for me. I have 100% respect and love for what they’re doing on TV. I think it’s amazing. The joy and the fun of them speaks to the iconic, graphic nature of these characters. These characters are bigger than any of the actors playing them. Long after I’m done making a Batman v Superman movie, there will be someone else who makes it. It’s almost like an American tradition now we’ve established that these characters will be played again and again, and they exist outside of us in this moment.
I think that’s sort of the thing I’ve embraced, and as opposed to trying to shoehorn all of these storylines into a single universe, we let the characters exist in multi-universe, and therefore it’s a lot more fun and a lot more value for the audience. They get to see their favourite and most beloved characters on different adventures at the same time in different universes and it really makes the meal a lot richer and a lot more fun. We get to go with these guys in all different directions and that’s really the joy of what we’re trying to do over here at DC.
Snyder also talks about the controversial reception of Man of Steel noting that “if you actually read Comics, you know I didn’t change Superman.” Snyder continues with talk of how he is a big comic book fan and wants to keep the characters in the movies similar to comic book canon. Snyder also says he considers Batman Vs. Superman a Justice League prequel; that they do go into Batman and Superman’s backstory, and that the other Justice League members are only touched upon in Batman V Superman while noting the Wonder Woman movie goes into her story.
Snyder also mentions he and Chrisopher Nolan talked about using a new Batman, as Superman wouldn’t fit into The Dark Knight Universe.

Check out Gal Gadot, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder talking Wonder Woman from the latest issue of Empire Magazine for Batman Vs. Superman.
Zack Snyder on casting Wonder Woman:
“It was so incredibly organic how Wonder Woman came into the story. The whole concept came of, ‘Let’s not save anything. Let’s try it all.’ Then Wonder Woman’s entrance made us realize we were much closer to the Justice League than we thought. We realized we were one movie away.”
Gal Gadot on casting Wonder Woman:
“I mean I could have guessed. I thought I was going to be Selina, you know? I only knew what role it was when I flew into test with Ben (Affleck). I was very excited. Anytime I had general meetings in L.A., I always said that my dream role was to do an empowered, independent woman who doesn’t rely on men.”
Deborah Snyder on Gal Gadot:
“She just has this magic quality” and noted the other actresses who auditioned were “amazing.”
On Wonder Woman’s powers:
“…Gadot confirms when it comes to inborn talent, her metahuman heals quickly, jumps to heights where she is almost flying and can really pack a punch.”
“She is also over 5000 years old, ‘Because she’s seen it all,’ says Gadot, ‘she has seen what humans can do, so it was very hard for her to come back and fight.'”
Gal Gadot on Diana Prince:
“They have the same attitude. Although when she is Diana, she tries to blend in, she is not too outgoing. I don’t want people to think she is perfect. She can be naughty.”

Check out the images (click any image for super high-res) and quotes from Henry Cavill’s interview in Empire Magazine for Batman Vs. Superman.
Henry Cavill On Superman:
“We see the reaction of Lex Luthor, and the reaction of Batman. And the reaction of Baman to this god-like being.”
“People have begun to fear him. Is he too powerful? Is he, in fact, a tyrant?”
“He’s more used to this gig, doing his best to save as many lives as he can. He is no longer frantic. He’s no longer a wet-behind-the-ears kind of superhero.”
Zack Snyder and Ben Affleck:
Snyder: “Can we really assume Superman will never turn on us?”
Affleck: “Sо it’s аbоut twо hеrоеs whо cаn bе sееn аs hеrоic аnd villаinоus, аnd whеn yоu lооk аt thе dоublе-еdgеd swоrd оf thаt, diffеrеnt pеоplе will cоmе аwаy lооking аt it vеry diffеrеntly.”
Affleck: “Rаthеr thаn just Аliеn Vs. Prеdаtоr, whеrе yоu hаvе twо mоnstеrs аnd thеy’rе gоnnа fight, yоu hаvе twо pеоplе whо rеаlly truly bеliеvе thеy аrе dоing sоmеthing hеrоic аnd nеcеssаry in thеir cоnflict.”
Affleck: “Batman has seen the devastation that comes from aliens battling on Earth. He thinks Superman is attracting flies to our planet. He is basically a beacon.”
Henry Cavill on Clark Kent:
“He is the human side of the character, but there is often this idea that Clark and Superman must be so different. He’s being himself, only he’s presenting a different front while he’s in these different outfits. He can only get away with wearing glasses so much. If he’s drawing attention to himself by being clumsy, that’s not going to work. We don’t want to be jokers.”
Henry Cavill on Lois Lane:
“It’s not a normal relationship. How could it be? One of them is an alien.”
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24050:]]
Henry Cavill On Batman:
“He doesn’t agree with his form of justice. For this farm boy who tries to do things the right way, justice at any cost is not something he can come to terms with.”
Cavill notes that instead of Superman bullying Batman by simply defeating him, he uses Clark Kent to “..show the world what this Batman dude is doing.”
“It’s the human outlook on Superman and that is why such a major thing happens. It’s not about one on one. Of course Superman is going to win, but it’s deeper than that. It’s more that these two great powers exist and are actually trying to achieve the same thing, but in such different ways.”
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24051:]]
Miscellaneous:
Cavill: “I don’t do push-ups. (prefers three hours a day on the on-site gym). Zack does a lot of push-ups on set, though. He started a push-up cult.”
Cavill: “It’s not as if I am going to be able to play a POW and then Superman again. (Cavill put on 30 lbs). My commitment lies with this first.”
Cavill: “He’s always in there. It sits there simmering at ten percent all the time and then when it comes to acting, you just crank it up to 100 percent.”
[[wysiwyg_imageupload:24052:]]
Henry Cavill on the Dawn of Justice League:
“There are hero moments where it looks like a hero moment. It doesn’t look like a bum saving a bunch of people then disappearing into the shadows. We’re introducing a potential long-term villain (Lex Luthor), we’re introducing Batman, and we’re introducing Wonder Woman. This is the Dawn of Justice.”
“It’s a bunch of people who are all used to getting their own way, so we’ll see how they interact. And the guy who can kick anyone’s ass is the nice one.”

Former running back for the Green Bay Packers, Ahman Green, happens to be a big fan of Batman, and it’s learned the NFL superstar also has a role in the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie.
Ahman Green appeared on the “Just Not Sports” podcast where he talked about Batman as well as the movie.
“I think I’m more than an extra because I got a lot of camera time,” Green said. “My character name is Thug #2, and if you go to IMDB.com right now I am on the cast list. So I think I’m more than an extra. That was just a dream come true, a great opportunity that Zack Synder and their casting director gave me to be on set.
“I’m actually in the process of making Thug #2 T-shirts. So Thug #2 T-shirts are coming to a Web site soon,” Ahman Green joked.
Green also talked about how he landed the role, as director Zack Snyder happens to be a big fan and from Wisconsin as well.
“From the first time I met Zack Synder … he’s like ‘Ahman, I gotta get you in the movie.’ He’s a Packer fan, he grew up in Wisconsin,” Green said. “I just kept, you know, sending him messages and calling him and just kind of reminding him, because he’s a big-time movie director. He’s a guy that can forget things and it won’t be his fault, because he has a thousand things going on every day. So I just stayed consistent with contacting him and finally I got a call from Warner Bros. Studios setting up flights. It was just like ‘Yes, here we go!’”
Green continues with mention that he is pretty excited about the film.
“From what I’ve seen, what I saw on set and what I’ve seen in the previews, it’s like aw man, this is going to be so good,” Green said.

It’s learned that Zack Snyder asked for Christopher Nolan’s blessing to do a new Batman movie starring Ben Affleck.
In the latest issue of Empire Magazine, Snyder recalls a conversation he had with Nolan.
“You tell me if you don’t want me to do it,” Snyder told Nolan.
“After a silence, Nolan said, ‘Well, we don’t own these characters. When you’re done making Batman movies, someone else will [make them].’”
Snyder then told Empire Magazine he thought Nolan “found it a little bit hard [to step away from Batman].”
“I would feel the same way,” Snyder said.
While Christopher Nolan was involved with Man of Steel (pictured above), Nolan doesn’t seem to be involved with Batman Vs. Superman or any of the Justice League movies as Nolan is not listed as an executive producer.
Christian Bale pretty much felt the same way as Nolan, as Bale said when it finally sunk in he wasn’t playing Batman for a fourth film, he “stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour.”

A few days ago saw Zack Snyder ask fans to choose their side for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Now Suicide Squad‘s Viola Davis (Amanda Waller) weighs in on the debate and chooses Batman.
“You’re asking a girl. A girls love Batman. They love Batman,” Davis offered to Empire Magazine. “You ask any woman, ‘Batman or Superman?’ It’s always going to be Batman. It’s the mask. It’s the muscles. It’s the car. Come on, it’s the Batmobile. The Batcave! Batman, man. Batman is hot. Superman needs a car. And the tights don’t work for me.”
It probably should be noted Batman does appear in Suicide Squad (probably doesn’t make a difference, though).
Empire also caught up with Jake Gyllenhaal (up to play Batman at one time), Matt Damon and Amy Schumer. See their picks below.

A high-res image of the Batman nightmare Batman vs. Superman sequence from Empire Magazine has made its way online.
May people think the image is a reference to Darkseid as the Omega symbol is featured. In addition, the same sequence features what looks to be Darkseid’s parademons.
There has to be more to the “nightmare” as if Batman had some sort of nightmare out of the blue, why then would it feature two Darkseid references? It’s possible Snyder could be setting up the Justice League movie or Part 2 down the road. Perhaps this is some sort of nightmare alternate (universe?) future?
