Synopsis:

Our story begins in a dark prison cell with a mysterious man chained to the wall, tired and hungry. He is the only living survivor from an attack on a group of soldiers. The only living witness to the atrocities a demon of the night performed in front of his very eyes.

Entrusted by the church to hunt down the beast that slaughtered their brothers in arms, a group of battle-worn Templar Knights must use this only witness to find and kill the demon that plagues the English countryside. To lead this group is a knight who no longer believes in God or country and has given up on humanity. But will this one last battle help him regain his lust for life and save his fellow brothers as well as himself?

The soldiers are only too aware of the devastation that was brought to their lost comrades and so must turn to others to assist in their quest. A group of battle-hardened, money-driven mercenaries are called upon to join the hunt. Having to not only drag with them a suspicious sole survivor who is an eyewitness but also a pack of untrustworthy mercenaries, a difficult path full of twists and turns lies ahead for the Templar Knights, more so than they first believed.

Shane Black Predator Not A Reboot

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:15979:]]

Two days ago it became known that Iron Man 3 director Shane Black is involved with a new Predator film.

Initially it was stated to be a reboot, but now Shane Black clarifies it is an “inventive sequel.”

The Collider caught up with Black who offered the following about the new Predator movie:

“As far as Fred [Dekcer] and I are concerned anyway,” Black said, adding “Why start over, when you’ve all this rich mythology yet to mine?”  Black said he doesn’t like reboots generally, but can “really get behind inventive sequels”, noting that he likes “the idea of expanding and exploring the existing Predator mythology, rather than hitting the restart button.”  He went on to say that Dekker, who’s writing the screenplay, is “perfect” for the project, adding the two had a blast writing the screenplay for The Monster Squad together.

Predator Reboot In The Works From Iron Man 3 Director Shane Black

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:15950:]]

The director of the billion dollar blockbuster Iron Man 3 is rebooting the Predator franchise with Fox.

Update: The new Predator is not a reboot.

THR has it that Shane Black will also write the treatment for the new Predator, and then will hand over writing chores to Fred Dekkerwhome he co-wrote 1987’s Monster Squad with.

It’s also said John Davis, who produced the original Predator, is back producing the reboot.

Interestingly enough, Shane Black actually was asked to help write the original Predator numerous times, but he wasn’t interested. Fox Studios even went so far as to temp Black with a small role in the movie, and when he was flown to the South American jungle set, they asked him again – but Black still said no.

The original Predator hit theaters in 1987 starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and spawned sequels and movies battling Aliens.

Last Summer saw a Predator teaser image released at the SDCC which brought up renewed interest in the films, but the teaser image turned out to be for a 3D Blu-Ray.
