Dark Horse Announces Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens

New “Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens” Unleashes Summer 2016

Dark Horse, IDW, and 2000 AD team up for galactic mayhem!

Announced today at Emerald City Comicon, three of the universe’s most feared figures cross paths this summer in the ultimate science-fiction crossover: Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens!

Written by New York Times best-selling and Eisner Award–winning author John Layman (Chew, Mars Attacks: Occupation) with stunning interior artwork by Chris Mooneyham (Five Ghosts, Predator: Fire and Stone) and iconic covers by Eisner Award winner Glenn Fabry, this series will be the wild ride of the summer for readers everywhere!

“Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens is just the sort of concept that would have Teenage John Layman wetting his pants with excitement…just at the possibility of reading it. Here, many, many years later, Old Man Layman is writing it, and it’s still every bit as thrilling,” remarked writer John Layman.

The crossover pits the legendary lawman Judge Dredd against the universe’s supreme hunters, the Predators, as they both try to survive an onslaught by the galaxy’s ultimate killing machines, the Aliens!

Judge Dredd and Judge Anderson have tracked a criminal cult across the Cursed Earth and into the Alabama morass, where a mad genetic scientist with destructive designs has acquired the best genes that evolution has to offer—a xenomorph skull!

A Predator, attracted to the warm climate and superior prey, has declared hunting season as he calls for backup. All paths will cross in a mind-blowing sci-fi showdown with the fate of the Earth at stake!

“This really is a dream-come-true project for me. I got to work on Aliens once before—a super cool experience, and one that was always on my creative bucket list. Dredd’s been on the bucket list as well, and you throw Predator into the mix, and it’s a trifecta of awesome. I’m loving every minute of this project so far,” added Layman.

Predator vs. Judge Dredd vs. Aliens #1 (of 4) is in stores July 27, 2016. Preorder your copy today at your local favorite comic shop.

Shane Black Predator Movie To Be As Big As Iron Man 3; Arnold Might Be Back

If you happen to be a fan of the Predator, you will probably be happy by what director Shane Black has to same about the new Predator movie coming out in 2018.

Shane Black explains why he decided to take on the new Predator film and cites the reason being that Fox stated they want the movie to be as big as Iron Man 3, which means more epic and a larger budget than any of the other previous Predator movies.

To put it in perspective, the 2010 Predators movie had a budget of around $40 millon, while Iron Man‘s 3 budget was around $200 million.

Fox also says they want to make Predators as eventful and important as a Ridley Scott Alien prequel.

Sounds pretty awesome.

Here’s what Shane Black had to say via Thrillist:

They called me and I was reluctant. I said, “Look. You guys at Fox, I mean, I enjoy these movies, but we’ve been churning out these AVP whatever, they each cost a certain amount of money, they’re okay, but there’s no effort to elevate them or make them any kind of an event.” They’re just sort of another Predator. “Oh, there’s another one that came out.” They said, “What if we said to you we want to reinvent this, and really treat it with as much of an event status, or as much hoopla as we would the Alien prequel, which is coming out also? We really want to make this something. The kind of movie that people line up for.” I said, “Really, you’ll spend a bunch of money?” They go, “Yep.” I go, “Make it really scale, spectacle?” “Yep.” “Shit, that sounds interesting.”

I think the first one was great, and it was contained, and it was a perfect little gem for what it was. I think there’s an expansion that needs to take place, and also just a love for that era, that movie, and the mythology of the Predator. I think that they came to me knowing pretty much that… they said, basically, if I wanted to make Predator but treat it like it was Iron Man III instead of just another little movie. I said, “Let’s really do it right this time.”

And regarding whether or not Arnold Schwarzenegger will be back:

Still in talks, script still a secret.

Fox Pulls Gambit From Release Date Schedule; Predator, Alien: Covenant Dates Announced

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:22939:]]

It’s being reported that Fox has pulled Gambit from its release date schedule, and that Gambit presently has no new release date.

Gambit was originally set for an October 7th release of this year and was scheduled to begin filming next month.

Fox has also scheduled two new untitled Fox/Marvel movies for an October 6, 2017 release and a January 12, 2018 release, respectively.

It’s possible Gambit could take one of those dates.

Another possibility is that Deadpool 2 could be released on one of those dates — as the movie is a huge success, Fox may want to get a sequel out as quickly as possible.

The newly announced Predator movie has also been given a March 2, 2018 release, and Fox has given Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant a new release date of August 4, 2017.

Fox’s schedule also includes X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27, 2016, and the untitled Wolverine movie on March 3, 2017.

Our story begins in a dark prison cell with a mysterious man chained to the wall, tired and hungry. He is the only living survivor from an attack on a group of soldiers. The only living witness to the atrocities a demon of the night performed in front of his very eyes.

Entrusted by the church to hunt down the beast that slaughtered their brothers in arms, a group of battle-worn Templar Knights must use this only witness to find and kill the demon that plagues the English countryside. To lead this group is a knight who no longer believes in God or country and has given up on humanity. But will this one last battle help him regain his lust for life and save his fellow brothers as well as himself?

The soldiers are only too aware of the devastation that was brought to their lost comrades and so must turn to others to assist in their quest. A group of battle-hardened, money-driven mercenaries are called upon to join the hunt. Having to not only drag with them a suspicious sole survivor who is an eyewitness but also a pack of untrustworthy mercenaries, a difficult path full of twists and turns lies ahead for the Templar Knights, more so than they first believed.
