Aliens vs Predator Cinematic Universe In the Works, Says Insider – Here’s the Proof

Aliens vs Predator Shared Universe In The Works

Disney and 20th Century Studios looks to be laying the groundwork for a new Alien vs Predator shared cinematic universe, with Predator: Badlands, Alien: Earth, and Predator: Killer of Killers all quietly interconnecting.

While no official AVP announcement has been made, there’s more than enough evidence in the recent trailers, teasers, and behind-the-scenes comments to suggest the monsters are converging.

In addition, a Youtuber says director Dan Trachtenberg is building toward a Alien vs Predator shared universe and that it’s happening.

Disney's New Predator Is A 'Runt'

Predator: Badlands Sets the Stage

The upcoming Predator: Badlands movie, directed by Prey’s Dan Trachtenberg, is already flipping the script.

Elle Fanning plays a Weyland-Yutani synthetic named Elle-47 (pictured below)) who’s connected to a new Predator named Dek.

According to the details, Dek is no typical villain and will be in a protagonist role, more of a good guy and even a hero.

Badlands reportedly features an ensemble of Predators and various alien threats, which seems to tie directly into the wider sci-fi ecosystem.

The Tachyon Pulse YouTube channel, who has dropped bombs about Stargate, Doctor Who, and Star Trek, adds:

“We actually have hints in the trailer — the Weyland-Yutani logo appears in the eyes of the robotic lady [Fanning]… and from what I’m being told by insiders, this is the culmination Dan Trachtenberg is working towards creating a universe that will spin off into Alien vs Predator.”

Alien: Earth and Five Deadly Species

Meanwhile, over on FX, the Alien: Earth TV series is bringing in massive lore expansions. The show introduces Wendy — not just a synthetic, but a hybrid human-AI consciousness created by the Prodigy Corporation (pictured above). When a Weyland-Yutani ship crashes into her city, Wendy leads a tactical team to investigate the arrival of new alien species.

The Crate teaser hints at the presence of “five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe,” and shows a classic Xenomorph crawling over containment units.

One of the biggest reveals: a teaser shows a mutated creature labeled “Species 37” with unknown DNA — possibly tied to the Prometheus-era Engineer mutagen, and potentially the very discovery that first put Weyland-Yutani on the path toward the original Alien mission and movie.

Could one of these lifeforms be Predator (Yautja)-related?

AVP Seeds Are Already Planted

Both Badlands and Earth show signs of an interlinked narrative:

  • Weyland-Yutani connects both stories.
  • Both projects feature synthetic/hybrid characters navigating encounters with unknown alien species.
  • Badlands includes a Predator protagonist; Earth hints at new alien mutations.

The setting of Badlands on an alien world, with a young Predator fighting larger beasts, sounds thematically in sync with the genetic experimentation teased in Alien: Earth.

As Tachyon Pulse puts it:

“We’re going to see the Predator and different variants of the Predator… throughout time, building up that picture.”

There’s even mention of the upcoming animated Predator movie (Killer of Killers) that spans multiple time periods and battles — all building a timeline and mythos in which an AVP-style convergence could naturally occur.

Fede Álvarez Wants the Surprise Crossover

Fede Álvarez, director of Alien: Romulus and its in-development sequel, is already dreaming big, as Álvarez previously filled in Collider:

“The best AVP will be the one that you don’t know is AVP until the other guy shows up. You think you’re watching a Predator movie, and then they land in some place and there are creatures, and fucking hell, it’s a Xenomorph. That would get me. … Or vice versa, you’re in an Alien movie, and then suddenly a mysterious creature is there, and you can hear that sound, and you see the cloak, and you go, ‘Is that a fucking Predator?’”

Álvarez hints at there being set up at a surprise crossover, which lines up with how Badlands and Earth are gradually revealing shared elements without overt branding. Maybe Álvarez goes full blown Aliens vs Predator which leads into an even bigger shared universe on the big screen on streaming?

Predator Is The Hero Of 'Predator: Badlands'

Cleaner Slate, Bigger Stakes

With the AVP films from the 2000s largely dismissed, this new shared universe may reset the franchise. Dek the Predator could even become a central figure in a rebooted AVP timeline, while Alien: Earth introduces new species and genetic possibilities — including a potential new hybrid like a “Predalien.”

As Tachyon Pulse explains:

“We’re building towards… Alien versus Predator… that will intertwine with Alien: Earth and future movies.”

It’s not official yet, but everything — from Weyland-Yutani’s involvement, to Trachtenberg’s and Álvarez’s comments, to mutated species teasers — is pointing toward a connected Alien vs Predator universe.

If Dek survives Badlands, and Wendy survives Earth, these characters could serve as the bridge into a new AVP crossover, which is hopefully done right.
