FX has revealed the premiere date and first official images for Alien: Earth, the upcoming series from Fargo creator Noah Hawley.
The 8-episode season debuts Tuesday, August 12, with the first two episodes airing at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FX and streaming on Hulu in the U.S. Internationally, the series will be available on Disney+. New episodes will drop weekly on Tuesdays.
“It has been an honor for us to expand the franchise with this new, hair-raising chapter of the Alien Universe,” said Timothy Olyphant at Tuesday’s Disney upfronts for advertisers.
What Is Alien: Earth About?
Set in the year 2120, Alien: Earth follows a crash-landed research vessel — the USCSS Maginot — that brings the Xenomorph threat to Earth. Sydney Chandler stars as Wendy, a hybrid prototype caught in a high-stakes corporate future controlled by five global companies: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold.
Wendy is more than a typical synthetic. She’s the first successful hybrid — a humanoid robot infused with human consciousness — created by Prodigy Corporation’s ambitious young CEO. When a Weyland-Yutani ship collides with Prodigy City, Wendy and a tactical team confront terrifying alien life forms, marking the beginning of a new kind of war.

Prodigy, the infamous Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. In this hyper-capitalist future, cyborgs and synthetics are part of everyday life. However, the founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation achieves a monumental breakthrough with the creation of Hybrids, humanoid robots infused with actual human consciousness, blurring the lines between artificial and organic life in a relentless race for immortality. The first of these Hybrids is Wendy, whose existence marks a pivotal moment in technological evolution.

Production Details
Alien: Earth is created and executive produced by Noah Hawley. Ridley Scott, who launched the Alien franchise, also executive produces alongside David W. Zucker, Joseph Iberti, Dana Gonzales, and Clayton Krueger. The series is produced by FX Productions.
The show will feature five alien creatures and aims to blend classic sci-fi horror with modern themes around AI, corporate control, and synthetic evolution.
